Do you feel optimistic or pessimistic about the future?

I don't really see what is optimistic for the future.

Starting with the overpopulation, the fear of losing millions of jobs to the AI, the belligerent politics of the US, Russia and China, the climate problems that the very same nations fail to want to address, the corrupt politicians, the immigration, religion wars or wars for the world supremacy or the oppression of women just to mention the most important ones.

Anyone that believes that the future is bright is hiding their heads in sand like ostriches do in the hope they don't see the dangers.

No, there is not a slight hope for the planet.

I think we will all be enslaved with invasive mindreading tech, digital id's and your liberties in society will depend on your literal beliefs. Or they outright alter them. Most of the population will be sterilized.

If people know they are slaves at that point I can't predict. But imagine everything currently going on in the UK for example, paired with the lockdown levels of having to present proof your allowed to do something. Then look up DreamDiffusion.

As for a bonus, no it won't be implant chips at some point. My prediction is they will make us inject / ingest things that increase our conductivity to the point devices outside the body can scan our thoughts. That way it can be remotely updated and not easily resisted.

Lets for our sakes hope I am wrong, but so far we are completely on track.

Totally depending on the place and country where you live in. Speaking about my country, it's a bit hard to stay optimistic and talk positively about the future under bad economic circumstances and the government..
