Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

Question

Normally I would be pessimistic all year round but this year I started out very optimistic and then things turned left really fast bringing me back into my pessimistic view of things and then I became optimistic again in March.

And now I feel defeated. I feel like I have no hope left and will probably be a pessimist for the rest of the year if not life.

That's tough. It's about 50/50 for me. But if I had to choose one that I lean more towards, it's definitely pessimist. But I see it as a realist 😎 Isn't that optimistic? 😂

Pessimmism is better. If things go wrong, I am not surprised and I am prepared. If they happen to go well I am pleasantly surprised.

Percent optimist on everything. I do if it doesn't work out there's A. Reason for it and I'll fix it. But no matter what you want , something in life , you have to make it work if you want it bad enough. And if something doesn't go right it's ok let it go but never stop going forward

Sometimes we need a let down it's good for us. It just makes us stronger and better

Don't let things get you down there's nothing on this planet to make your self un happy mo e on to the next thing and come back to it later

I try to think of it like if I don't want to do something that's all the more reason I need to do it. I'm pessimist to myself and optimist toward the rest of the world... working out is a prefect example. I hate running but love the look people give me when I run by them sweating like crazy looking miserable breathing hard but still going. That look is like they don't understand why I'm putting myself through so much he'll. Well that look makes me smile cause while they are getting weaker I'm getting stronger. So when I don't want to do something it like fires me up that, it makes me smile cause I know I'm getting stronger. I guess I'm saying be aware of your emotions they are only emotions how you use them for growth or excuse in life that's up to you. You got this keep your head up. The purpose is so you get stronger

Optimism and pessimism are both choices we make on how we choose to expect reality. Yeah, it’s not always going to live up to our expectations but I’d rather be disappointed things didn’t go well than be miserably vindicated that I was correct on how things got worse.

I am a positive thinker… I turn negativity into positive and a very optimistic person. It has serve me well.
I had 2-4 years. of very down time… took me that long to get back up… yes life is not fair and it will challenge us…I learned… to make the best of each day and appreciate all those around me and smile and give back…

Neither… I’m somewhere between a pragmatist and a realist. I look at things objectively and take the practical approach more than not.

If optimists and pessimists see the glass half full or half empty , a pragmatic realist would acknowledge the glass and contents and approach practically to figure out how best to use the glass and its contents to best advantage.

I'm an optimist I do get beaten down sometimes but then I talk to people and try and put things in perspective and understand my situation and see what the next goal can be and then I'm usually fine. If I can see my situation clearly and I see where I want to go then I feel good :)

I see the worst in everything and everyone first and foremost. Closer to a realist actually, because I do see good if it's there, but in real life you have to take the good with the bad, and the bad usually makes the good... how should I say this... where the juice is just not worth the squeeze.
