Ok, so, like, I was just sitting here, happily typing away on G@G , blissfully unaware of the amazing universal anomaly I was about to become a part of.

A fruit fly, (Yes, ok, I might have forgotten to put the bananas away. It's the weekend. I was busy hibernating) comes flying along and promptly decides to nosedive into my coffee. Like, wtf? I mean, it had the whole damn house to choose from and it decides then and there to just end it all? Did God call it home at that precise moment? Was it suicidal? A heart attack? Just wanted a cup of coffee? Revenge from the fruit gods for me not putting the bananas away before they turned to black mush? So, so many questions to ponder.

And while I was pondering all these marvels of the universe, I couldn't help but wonder, What are the astounding odds that our two lives would intersect at that precise moment in time in all of known creation?

And it just leads me to ask, Isn't life just amazing?

I am unable to share any amazing stories on fruit flies as my state has strict immigration borders which fruit flies may not cross.

However I do have an amazingly (bad) fly story of a type that I had never seen before... or since... which made up for their diminutive size by sheer numbers.

First I need to explain my apartment is higher than the ceiling that flying insects have and so never see them which is amazingly (good) in itself.

My girlfriend of the time went to a farmers market and came back with some meat in a sealed plastic bag. She was salivating over it as she proudly showed it to me. (It was a rule I had to admire her purchases and express how amazing they were).

I've since learnt this uppity frenchified cooking was sous vide. She was just like that, which was always a problem.

She heated in water as instructed, whilst banging on about how amazing it was going to be. The moment she pierced the sealed bag a gray cloud of tiny flies flew in through the French balcony doors and circled the sous vide.

Not sure but I am guessing they were French Flies.

There was a big cleanup effort afterwards. 5 years on I still find their carcasses in odd spots.

That ended things because a girl who pulls in clouds of flies just isn't a keeper.

I feel like flies are always trying to get at my food and drinks, particularly fruit flies.
Tell me you saw a squirrel take a dump and i’d be astounded. I’ve seen a million squirrels in my lifetime. Not once have i seen one poop. I’ve seen probably a thousand horses, and it seems like they all pooped just for my benefit. At least two-thirds of them anyway. How does that figure?
I saw a raptor swoop down out of the sky and catch a squirrel for dinner once. I had never second guessed that i had seen that behavior hundreds of times on television but never in person. Suddenly i’m living a Marty Stouffer’s Wild America moment firsthand and the world did indeed seem significantly more wondrous.
I have even been pooped ON by birds, twice. No squirrel dookie though. It’s probably a glitch in the matrix. Right? Cuz the math ain’t mathin’ on squirrel poop.

I experienced an anomaly on your question. I had to look up Anomaly, which means, "something that deviates from what is standard, normal or expected." Then, I had to look up the word "Deviate!" I guess I'm just not as educated as you are

Anyway, yes, life is amazing! I would say, everyday I see or experience something amazing and that's not just the poppy seeds talking! Just today, I drove for two hrs to get my sister in law a prescription, she has kidney stones and is WAY too sick to drive. My wife asked if I could go, because my wife didn't wanna leave her. As I was driving, I realized how important my sis in law is to me. I don't have a sister. She's always been special to me and I realized she's family to me and I would do anything for her and she's done a lot for me.
