Neither: I'm "driven", if that's the right term, by fear of success.

The fear of success, also known as the
Jonah complex or achievephobia, is a subconscious, self-sabotaging anxiety that prevents individuals from realizing their full potential. It often stems from fears regarding increased responsibility, social alienation, imposter syndrome, or the inability to maintain a high standard, rather than the success itself.

And as you'd expect, it is caused by unresolved childhood trauma.

Failure makes you grow, or at least it should. People are of course driven by both, but one tends to sit in the driver’s seat more often. The difference is important because it affects your choices, risk-taking, and self-relationship.
