Do you enjoy getting the last word in, or does it even matter to you?

I don't necessarily enjoy nor need to get the last word in.

I sometimes will continue to try to clarify my intent as a means of fostering understanding by all who may be involved in a situation.
To a fault.

What I usually later realize is that my efforts have been wasted, especially when dealing with those who either can't or won't face their own preconceived notions or beliefs.

I'm human, as are we all, subject to sometimes possibly not being able to see the forest for the trees for myself.

I also enjoy introspection, contemplating how people come to have different beliefs that defy reason.
Again, sometimes, to a fault.

So, sue me!

There's a much bigger picture and that is just being calm in control understanding both sides because there are two sides and if you cannot understand the other side then you might as well just walk away and start all over with somebody else because the person with the ego and has to be right is always going to try to get the last word in and ego should not be involved with anything it's called compromise respect each other and listen

As long as another person's arguments make sense I can continue debating and say the last word of it is necessary but if I start repeating myself or if another person tries pulling me at his/her level with insults I say my last word and don't even listen what s/he tells me anymore. It really depends on what we're talking about, but more often than not I don't care. If you're right, there's no reason to need the last word. And if you're constantly wrong but always need the last word then I'm probably going to get to the point where I'd rather just not want to talk to you.😆
