Do you find it annoying when someone finishes your sentence for you?

I quite often pause mid sentence to ensure I use the right word or explain myself correctly. Some of the people I'm with will often finish my sentence for me.

Most of the time I don't mind, especially with friends and family who I'm on the same wavelength with, but it can be quite annoying when someone finishes my sentence with the wrong thing!

If someone finishes my sentences a lot, I will change what I was going to say and correct them, as a gentle way of giving them a hint that they should be patient and let me speak.

How do you feel about it?

Yes and then continues like it is their story…. Same people that like to talk over you. If it is not a superior, I turn around and walk away right when it happens‼️ Especially if it is in a group of friends…

There is nothing worse than one-way conversation! Sometimes people think that telling their story is showing empathy, but it isn't.

I've never thought of it before, but looking back, I think it was OK the times that it did happen. It shows they are engaged with what you are saying. Just my take looking back.
