How do you (personally) stand out in a crowd without trying too hard?

Partly my size. Partly I tend to be the best dressed guy in the room not because I'm trying to impress anyone but it's just the way I like to dress. And partly, I guess it's my attitude, demeanor or whatever. I'm constantly told I'm either scary or confident.

Example. About a week ago I was out on a Friday night and this really nice looking blonde kept apologizing for invading my space. After about the 6th apology, I told her to stop and asked her if I'm really that scary that she tought she ahd to apologize for standing next to me. She didn't manage to answer before one of the guys she was with blurted out "YES". And then she chimed in with a yes too. 🤣

A while back, another really nice looking blonde leaned her back against the bar so she could make eye contact with me while I was seated. The first words out of her mouth were, "you must be really confident".

Why do people read me that way? I honestly don't know. But apparently I have the same effect on men and women.

I don't think I stand out much, I look like any other brown teenager out there and my normal dressing sense isn't very different. However sometimes I overdress and stand out a lot like here

How do you (personally) stand out in a crowd without trying too hard?

Was I feeling cold as hell? Yes

Were my ears and nose and fingers freezing? Also yes

Did my mom scold me for not wearing a coat or something warm? Yes

Did I get runny nose and fits of sneezes after the trip? Yes

But was the aura farming worth all of this? YES

How fortunate that some random accessory seller conveniently had a nicely designed useless umbrella made of cotton which matched my bangles and outfit. Absolutely no regrets wasting my mommy's money on that thing lol.

I always try to be myself, for good or for worse. I don't want to blend in and disappear amongst the crowd, nor stand out in an outspoken way. I guess I stood out sufficiently for my now husband to ask me out on a date.

I try my best NOT to stand out in a crowd because I don't like to be the center of attention. I have stated that numerous times.

I have however done a few things that I would rather not talk about here but I will let you know in a different way you about it. I prefer it not to be known on GaG.

I try very hard to remain as anonymous as possible and not to stir too much attention because I certainly don't want validation or publicity.

I am aware that others may seek just the opposite and I guess I have been swimming against the flow most of my life.

I don't know. I'm told I'm intimidating. I guess that's a form of dating, right?

I've been marked as ex military several times. Then, I went to a party, with some friends from work, and had an interesting interaction. I knocked on the door and a young lady answered it. She took one look at me, slammed the door in my face, and screamed "COPS!" I spent the rest of the time talking with the owner of the home, the ex-wife of a cop.

Usually, when I enter a room, you can hear bricks start falling.

I work events for a living so I'm in packed rooms constantly, and the moments people have actually remembered me for are never the things I planned. Someone once told me I seemed "easy to be around" and I just... thank you? I think? Because in my head I was doing a fairly anxious impression of a relaxed person the whole time.

The trying-too-hard thing is invisible until it isn't, maybe. The people who seem effortless are probably just better at keeping the panic internal.

Just be myself , because I am not shy and I like socializing , I am usually to start of a party which I been told by numerous people , for a long time. I also don’t really care what other people think about me , not everyone is going to like you or dislike you , so I am who I am , you either accept me or you don’t

Without confidence, people just see you as a boring, boiled potato. With confidence, you turn into perfectly seasoned, crispy fries or chips that people just can't stop eating 😌

Haha , I’ve never tried to ‘stand out’ in my life but according to some I’m ‘seen’ anyway.

I wouldn’t consider myself a shrinking violet by any means but I’ve never sought attention other than in a professional setting and then it’s only just my superior (s) I’m trying to be seen by and purely to climb the ladder. Gain recognition and earn more money.

I'm 6'2. I stand out lol.

I think it's posture and confidence. That and having genuine interest in the people I meet. Asking them questions.

I have mentors and I always walk away from their conversations thinking they asked all the questions - how to they do that so well... I wind up feeling like I just talked about myself. I aspire to be more like them. A question asker, genuine listener.

I don't think I do or try to. I also don't feel compelled to which might be why. This is literally to standing out in a crowd.

On a personal level or in conversations I just try to be genuine and kind. Some folks have told me that is a stand out quality which makes me sad lol.
