Most of us have heard the saying, "Don't cast a clout 'til may is out."

Well may or hawthorn as is more commonly known these days is in full bloom. So have you casted a clout yet?

I've already casted my clout a few times this year, and to my cost I have left home unprepared for the cold weather.

But I've learned my lessons, and I'm on the side of caution, especially because I'm still using the central heating.

So I'm keeping my winter clothes handy just in case.

The May weather around here is up and down - 91°f one day and 60° and rainy later in the week, varying between mid 60s to low 50s at night. So I haven't put away my winter clothes yet. Maybe when May is out.
It will be time to get my swamp cooler (evaporative cooler) up and running soon enough.

I've never heard that saying but I don't get out much. And the dandelions aren't even out here yet. Which I'm looking forward to. Even if it means bedwetting. 😳

Yep... 90F here today so... to be fair tomorrow will be 70F tomorrow, but the heat is upon this region almost daily until maybe October.
