What is this complexity to pad shopping?

I'm running into videos of pads for some reason and every short I watch of people questioning stuff on it I learn something new, you got wings, they come in different sizes, there's numbers to tell you different levels of how much blood and stuff, and here I thought it was as simple as putting on a diaper and that they all came the same size and it's a universal size or something

a win is no swamp ass feeling and just NO messes period. that is the most annoying fucking part which firstly means having a pad with good coverage and absorption for your flow (which is also situational)

after that it can't be like some pad that'll move on its own, be irritating, or gets all wrinkly. some bc of the materials make you feel wet and gross. thats why finding the right brand matters

those reasons btww are why a lot of girls dont use pads

everyones different, but usually its disposable pads and we prepare for night time if our flow is heavy

like i could wake up with bloody sheets or have to move like a ninja from my bed to the bathroom bc it might drop like a hot potato lol other times im chillin with just boxers

There's a lot of different types because blood flow varies from person to person and throughout the cycle, different activities require different levels of protection or morphologies of period protections, etc. Like if there were a universal size it could cause problems and discomfort for a lot of people. Some come with other little features, because people want different things. It's something you're using 1/4 of every month anyways. It better be as comfortable and convenient as possible.

Some people bleed more than others. So you need a pad that can hold more. Wings are far superior I don't know why they even make them without. Overnight ones tend to hold more and be longer since you're lying down things can go in all sorts of different directions.

I barely use pads anymore since I just mostly use reusable products. But the same sort of idea goes for those too.

So how do they know which ones they will need? Do they always bleed the same way every month? Or can the next month be different and they buy a different type of pad, if it's different how do they know? See, learned something else, didn't know they had reusable products, now I'm flabbergasted about that too

It can change month to month for some people so they will just have a stash of multiple different absorbencies.

Reusables are great. I have underwear, cup and a disc. Technically don't need to buy any products for 5 years using them

Stash sounds valid, probably the best way to make all that easier, you just get a stash of everything.

5 years is really good, don't know much about it but definitely sounds worth it, makes me wonder how the business that makes the disc cups underwear stay in business with such a window of use.

I don't see anything advertisements for pads but I have seen some for regular underwear that's reinforced in the crotch.
I wouldn't trust those but who knows maybe they work good.🤷🏼‍♀️
