I'm a late 80s baby who grew up in the 90s and if there was one thing I remember growing up was adults always telling us children when whenever went to go play was...
"behave and do not play house!"
now that I look back I find it kinda ironic that they didn't want us to play that game yet this toy was pretty common in the 90s.
I mean if you ask me, wasn't this no different then telling children "not to play basketball" before sending them to play in a place where there is a basketball hoop in plain site?

There is nothing wrong with a playhouse. We had a nice one in the back yard when my sister and I were young.
If someone had told me not to play house, I wouldn't have understood their reference.
This question reminds me of a song that my wife and I like a lot.
I Think We're Alone Now - Tommy James and the Shondells
[Verse 1]
"Children Behave"
That's what they say when we're together
"And watch how you play"
They don't understand
[Pre-Chorus]
And so we're running just as fast as we can
Holding on to one another's hand
Trying to get away into the night
And then you put your arms around me
As we tumble to the ground and then you say
[Chorus]
I think we're alone now
There doesn't seem to be anyone around
I think we're alone now
The beating of our hearts is the only sound
[Verse 2]

We gotta hide what we're doing
'Cause what would they say
If they ever knew?
Never heard dont play house.
I do know that when a boy and a girl played house they were pretending they were the mommy and the daddy. My first girlfriend and I used to play house, then when we got into our teens we started really playing house.
I dont see anything wrong with playing house or kitchen.
as a kindergarten teacher, glad our students still get play time. There are kids who picked kitchen… they love the pretend chef.
some girls never picked kitchen and always wanted legos and blocks. They are very very good in math and science!
my hubby is excellent as a stay home dad.
Aside from keeping the house orderly, he also fixes our car, computer, fixes tools, the yard.
Playing house was like playing doctor. Not something young kids should do. They get into that starting in Jr. High.
ikr... I think I played house and dr too much as a kid lol
he just needs to be in uniform and then it would be perfect. if the kid can talk then it's okay. ages 4 and up
Yeah that’s not a good toy
