What is your opinion on Toy guns?

Should children be allowed to play with toy guns?
Due to the recent shootings, I feel like it’s an important topic to talk about since the number of shootings have been increasing each day (especially school shootings). May those spirits who have been taken from us Rest In Peace in his glory 🤍.

Love them. Toy guns are fun, make one feel cool and no death real chance of death what's more to love.
And any cop who shoots a kid with a toy gun is just really bad cop without common sense. Pretty sure toy guns don't look like a realistic AR-15 that some kid would take into school and could be mistaken as the real thing. I for sure had nothing like that. Plus your not allowed toy guns in school anyway so... why on earth would a kid have one in school even if it did look super real that's just asking to be shot by cops at that point anyway.

Kids don't do that anyway, kids have there nerf guns then go into the streets with bright orange or blue obvious plastic guns then smile while firing at each other without a sound a real gun so obviously not a gun.
Even a BB gun if the kid is getting really into it are clearly fake especially when used in the context you would come across with it which again will be some kids shooting each other, which wouldn't exactly be blood everywhere and screams that a real gun would bring.

When I was younger I knew a older kid than me and his friends we all went into a graveyard to shoot BB guns at each other, if a cop came along and thought we were really shooting each other who is the idiot here?

Toy guns have been around for a long time- much longer than the trend of school shootings. It would actually probably be better for kids to be actively playing with their friends with toy guns than sitting at home staring at screens all day, not developing any kind of physical connections with their peers.

Yes. Really doesn't matter. We had a 40 year long toy gun ban in Northern Ireland partly to stop unionist or republican paramilitary recruitment and partly to stop the British & RUC shooting kids, it never really made a difference.
As long as guns are in popular movies and TV shows it won't make a difference. I think liberal anti gun Hollywood probably sells more guns than anyone, which is comical. You watch any movie especially if it futuristic and what you see I'd product placement of the latest firearm or a certain type of gun creates intrest in buying recreations of that firearm like Rick's colt python in the walking dead. Also the glorified of gun culture in Hollywood movies such as the John Wick series.
Also America is a military state with kids indoctrinated at a young age to want to join the military.

They advocate the hardest for gun control while simultaneously being guarded 24/7 by security armed to the teeth. See that's what gun control is really about: disarming the middle and lower class while the rich and elite get the best protection possible. Like kings vs. peasants in the days of old.

They tried something similar once already and it failed miserably. You ever heard of Prohibition? It was a time in America in the early 20th century where the government (particularly one Wayne Wheeler) "convinced" the majority of Americans that alcohol was bad and needed to be outlawed throughout the land. And for about 10 years, it did. Not just a law but a constitutional amendment.

It backfired because a lot of people realized how much they missed alcohol and began to defy the law, making their own or smuggling in alcohol from other countries. It got to the point where government had no choice but to make another constitutional amendment that revoked the previous one that banned alcohol.

That's what these anti-gun ownership nut jobs fail to realize. You outright ban something and it will open up a black market for illegal trade, lawlessness increases tenfold and all your good intentions for making things better become scorned because it only ever to make things worse.

Government banned alcohol, it backfired. Government banned drugs, it backfired. Government bans firearms, they risk Civil War #2. It's as simple as that.

@SlightlyEccentric why do Americans not have fully automatic machine guns, because they are banned. If they wanted to get rid of guns, they would just stop manufacturers making guns and ammunition, prevent tax heavily sale of guns, make gun licences too expensive, a yearly tax on guns, force people to buy expensive gun insurance and in 20 years through natural waste there would be fewer guns as thered be no replacement parts and they would just be to expensive to buy or own.

I think it's only okay if the toy guns are clearly toys like flashy orange or yellow. If it's confused with a real weapon the kid might get shot dead. I've heard of this before. A prank gone wrong and the father shot I think his son who was pranking him with a mask and a fake gun.

This is a golden opportunity to teach kids gun safety 101. Since they are toys they can learn from an early age how to and not to handle them and never point at anything you're not prepared to shoot. Children need more loving discipline from their parents especially on matters like this.

I have never believed that children should own or play with toy guns (rifles too). They should stop making them!

Do you have any proof that toy guns cause real shootings? No? Didn’t think so.
