Why did Chevy turn the Trailblazer and Blazer into crossovers?

Last year I was looking for newer used. I test drove a 22 trailblazer. But they are making them and blazers into crossovers. They were truck like back in the day. Why did that change?

That's a valid point provide feedback as a consumer. But I guess it's like asking what happened to so many car models, car brands.

I'm sure they did some sort of market research and found that their profit margin would be bigger
