Most likely not, 30 years from now, we'll have much better and cheaper battery technology combined with ever increasing fuel prices due to shortages and other factors. The only way I foresee gasoline cars, aka internal combustion engine cars still staying mainstream is if battery technology doesn't have major advances and we start producing bio fuels that can rival gasoline.

Yes. There's no way we're getting rid of gas cars in your lifetime.

I think 30 years is about the right time horizon for a shift to electric and away from gas and diesel. Technology and infrastructure simply aren't there yet and those things take time.

I doubt it. As the number of gasoline powered cars decreases, service stations will start closing, and at some point it will be easier to recharge a car than to refuel one.

@slatyb I do worry about batteries in EV or hybrid cars during car accidents, running over rocks in the roads or the way the batteries are so easily damaged or I fear overheating as a paranoid person hearing all those e-scooters and e-bikes being overcharged forgetfully. Or again, a faulty crack in a battery from standard rocks on. A pebbles on a road damage, and cracked battery fears of being zapped โšกโšก๐Ÿ”ฉ

@slatyb I used to be an EV fan, not until the last 5 or 7 years or so at the the end of the 2010s. At the turn of the 2020s, I'm a gasoline man (no diesel) or a hydrogen fan man if hydrogen ever takes popularity for vehicles someday , however all fuel types sadly including. Electric have cons aka flammable , fragile

Aka all fuel types can be bad, even ones that aren't fossil fuel, you know, safety wise I fear lol ๐Ÿ˜† paranoia often aka electric zap fears, fuel flame fears, hydrogen fire fears, etc

Same goes for a battery in a car crash, I mean, somehow that to my mind presents as hazard as the spare wheel in the well being squished in a car accident - scary ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

Yeah, and gasoline powered cars were deathtraps for decades, but they are far safer now. We walk away from collisions that were fatal in the 1960's. EVs will continue improving.

Who knows, it's a mystery. In 30 years, maybe all the cars would run on electricity.

Or the further irony ๐Ÿ‘€ 30 years, hardly much has changed ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜… and there's still gasoline supremacy - that would. be the irony of that distant 30 year future - lol it's like Stewie in Family Guy and he's like "what, the future, it all looks the same" in the great adventure episode old episode 2000s

And older Stew / Stu says "it's only been 30 years" lol ๐Ÿ˜† Quahog what a city ๐ŸŒ†๐Ÿ™๏ธ

That anonymous would be an ironic future - 30 years now from 2025 - and it's like comparing year 2000 to 2025 - "it's as if not that much has changed" ๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜… aka "there's still devices called computers, or there's still an internet" it's like little aspects versus big aspects
