How its like working in a mental ward?

It can be funny sometimes lol… but most of the time it really isn’t. You learn to laugh at certain things though, because sometimes that’s easier than constantly focusing on how sad the reality of some situations can be.

My mother and grandmother worked in the psych unit. I’ve never worked in psych.

But I’ve dealt with patients with severe dementia and other mental illnesses like schizophrenia.

I can't tell you what it's like to work there but I've been one of the lunatics. As far as I can tell it's a lot of work work for very little money, but you have the opportunity to make a difference to someone's life.
