Who are the giants race today and where do they come from?

The giants of mythology were usually based on real people. Kings and leaders, good and bad of their history became giants in their stories. For example Brân the blessed, the giant who attacked Ireland is thought to be based on Brennus a Gaul chieftain who invaded Greece.

This would be no different us using Napoleon as the basis of a giant story and then forgetting Napoleon was actually real
