Most Painful thing happened to you in life?

Breaking up with one particular girlfriend.
I had girlfriends from the time I was 16. But when I was 36, I met a 30 year old and fell completely in love. We lived together for two years and I would have gladly spent the rest of my life with her. But it turned out that we could not have made it as life-long partners and wound up separating for reasons that are too complicated to explain but had nothing to do with cheating or anything mean. We still loved each other.

Being separated from her was the worse pain I have ever experienced in my life. It was worse than the death of my mom.
I felt like I had the breath knocked out of me. At times I felt nauseous. When I was alone, I sometimes curled up all bawled. It was unbearable.
It took me a year to recover and move on with my life.

In terms of time to recover, being involved in a car accident was the most painful. It took 6 months to fully recover, but the first 2 months were extremely difficult. Other than that, I had to have life-saving surgery (Ludwigs Angina).

Physically, it was having an infected tooth extracted. The infection kept the anesthetic from taking full effect, and the root was still pretty healthy and strong. So i felt everything while the doctor was breaking my tooth apart and pulling it out in pieces.
The anesthetic wore off completely before i could fill my prescription for pain pills and i was literally blinded by pain.
Emotionally, i had to be the person who decided to take my father off of life support. Worst day of my life.

Several years ago, I had a kidney stone. It was painful for days until it finally passed.

I was amazed how small the stone was, but it had sharp pointed corners that caused the pain

My father would get a kidney stone every two years. If it was a odd numbered year we knew what to expect. They are hereditary but so far so good.
