When someone starts relying on other people's validation in order to feel good about themselves, they slowly become very sensitive to what people say about them. Eventually, they start overthinking everything about themselves based on someone said about them.

Probably constantly putting yourself last, always pleasing others, ignoring your own needs, and staying in situations that drain you. It happens slowly, until you realize you don’t feel like yourself anymore.
