Hmmm…well, I grew up riding the subway, logged hundreds and maybe even thousands of hours on there, so I’ve seen some shit, lmao.

I think my favorite was on the bus, though. And my one rich preppy friend was with us, who already wasn’t thrilled to be on public transportation, lmao, aghast at the behavior of the lowly poors😂. I must’ve been 15 or 16, otherwise we would’ve been driving, because the rich kid had a license and car first.

I wish I could type this in the guy’s voice, because the delivery was like 75% of the humor. If you’re familiar with South Park, maybe read it in the “rabblerabblerabble!” voice of the angry townspeople; that’s maybe the closest I could describe without an impression. Just a loud, crazy guy, yelling but not angry, slightly slurred or you could just tell he didn’t have all of his teeth, haha. White dude, probably in his 60s, long hair and beard, scraggly looking, just to set the scene.

So he’s loudly telling a story about some confrontation he had at the halfway house it sounded like he was living at. Apparently someone had stolen a pair of jeans from him. So he’s talking about it for all to hear, and he’s like “So I had a brand new pair of dungarees (“dungarees”, just lmfao…that was the initial laugh we were having) that went missing from my room!” He starts adding all these dramatic pauses. “So I went out into common area kitchen where everybody was…. and I looked ‘em all dead in the eyes…and I said ‘I’m missing a brand new pair of dungarees!….. Now, I’m goin’ out for a few hours…. if I come back, and those dungarees aren’t on my bed…. there’s gonna be a SHAKEDOWN!!!’ And I went out for the day…. and when I came back…. those dungarees were neatly folded on my bed, WITH A BOW ON ‘EM!!!”

We’re just a few seats away laughing about it. Then we get to a stop, he gets up to get off, a woman who’s like six rows ahead of him and clearly has the right of way, he says “After YOU, ma’am!”, then looks at all of us, gives us this jack o’lantern smile with roughly 50% of his teeth in his mouth, and the best part, in this booming voice, he goes “What a NICE guy I ammmmm!!!”

And then just like that, he was gone forever, and he’s almost certainly dead by now, but he lives on in my memory three decades later😂😂😂

There's a Christian McDonald's near my house. I have no idea what Christianity has to do with McDonald's.

When I was driving to school one morning I saw a man without a shirt wearing a necklace made out of chicken bones urinating into the street.
