What does it mean when a guy asks if you miss him?

Do guys automatically think it's a sexual thing? I have said this phrase unsolicited before and was surprised by the response. The reaction I received lead me to believe he thought I meant sexually. I guess I have meant it sexually before...But not ever time I say I miss someone does it mean I want to jump their bone.

He's asking "Do you miss me?". That sounds insecure. I'm pretty reserved with my emotions in a relationship so I'm probably not the best answer, but why would he ask that, it's a leading question like "Did you like it" The answer is obvious unless you want to hurt their feelings.

Girls have asked me that, and I don't mind because girls get a pass for a little of emotional things, but I've never thought she meant do I miss her sexually, unless she specifically says she misses me in that way.

Depends how it was said so you can judge from context also depends on the relationship you have with this person i.e. friends with benefits etc, but in general it isn't its probably more jocular then sexual.
