So a girl I go to school with says I'm like a big brother to her.

I've been there for her on quite a few occasions, and helped her out a lot. She is a little younger than me too. I get the idea of someone being a "big brother" but why would she say that?

It kind of sucks because I've been into her for a long time...

You've been friend-zoned. If it makes you feel better, I think being a big brother to someone is kind of an honor, speaking as someone who never had any brothers. It's like she has more respect for you and she feels a higher level of protection from you than someone who is in the typical friend-zone.
