Is it OK for a guy to wear short running shorts?

When i run i like to let my knees breathe so i wear running shorts above my knees. It won't affect your performance at all, you can pretty much run in any shorts but i prefer running shorts above the knees

I don't wear them I just wear normal shorts with sports boxers because it limits chafing. I could see how some marathon runners wear them, but personally I go for regular shorts and sports boxers.
