What type of girl do 'alternative' guys like?

Most alternative guys I've seen love preppy girls. Is this true for most alternative guys? Why do they only like the preps?

Alternative is basically anyone who strays from mainstream beauty/ fashion. For example, instead of Brad Pitt there's Oli Sykes. Instead of Christina Aguilera there's Alison Sudol. When saying alternative girls, I don't mean the ones covered in tattoos and piercings (although I do think girls like that are pretty).

Society tell us that preppy girls are the ones with more value, they are the ones that we can show our parents and show off, or our friends and show off. They also seem that most hard to get because they have huge ass fake confidence, etc.. They dress well, smell good, go to the gym regularly, are hairless and smooth while naked, don't have weird tatoos or piercings saying I hate the world, always seem happy even if it is fake.

While other girls like emo, rocker, metal, gothic, tomboy, townies, people just assume they are easy because they have low self steem, low social intuition due to lack of experience, and therefore they are easy to get, which as a guy makes you look like you just settle for less because that's all you can get.

Just be you. Don't change yourself for what you think someone else likes. You lose yourself after that and who you are. If someone falls for you, they're going to like you whatever style you are.

As for the question, I never really liked a girl based on whether she was "alternative" or "preppy", I mean, for me at least it doesn't matter. If I think she's cute, it doesn't matter.

Preppy girls are usually the prettiest and girliest. Guys like that no matter what group he's in.

Ooh like Indie. I think those dudes like other Indie chicks or preppy chicks. Those types of people rarely date outside of their style, they're closely knit.
