Do you like black girls with long hair?

I know a guy that says black/mixed girls shouldn't have hair longer than shoulder length if it is natural. I have also had black girls look at me and tell their neighbor "that is too much hair". I never hear this being said of white and Asian girls with the same length of hair.

Do you think it's overwhelming when black/mixed girls have long hair?

The reason why people say this is because they have very ignorant assumptions.

My child is puertorican/black and has hair that is in the middle of his back.

However, since his hair texture is very curly his hair appears shoulder length,

sometimes even far shorter (unless it is blown out).

African-American hair needs to grow twice has long in order to show some decent length.

Many different races do not know about other hair textures, and assume that we cannot grow long hair when that is not true.

Many of us have very long hair but because of our texture it does not look that way.

Also,

The black people that do use chemicals are stopping their hair growth.

Sure, it looks great.

But long term use can cause it to be very damaging.

I am a girl with natural hair, and I believe that is the way to go.

People assume non-black people have real hair. But with my observation I have seen that people that are non-white wear extensions/weaves just has much if a black person were to wear them. It is just that when a black person wears it, it is more obvious the hair is not theirs (because of the texture).

True, well at least the 2nd one. The first looks has if she has blown her hair out a lil. Still pretty thick and could get about a few inches longer if straighten more.

Curly hair tends to be thicker in volume and appearance, so it's easy for it to appear wild and out of control compared to thin straight hair

The same thing is said to white girls with curly hair, hence why most curly head people straighten their hair, because straight is more acceptable socially.

I like curly hair like the 1st and 2nd links. The "perfect" coils always strike me as perm like, so I'm not too big of a fan of them

I think most people would disagree with what your friend said.the longer the better.especially if you've got curls and coils. Curly hair hardly ever looks good short.

I get the impression that having long and curly is overwhelming because it looks more massive than straight and long or short and curly.

I see what you're saying.but I think that short curls would give that bulky poodle or triangle top look.so length is better because it evens it out and weighs the curls down

I have known some white girls who are attractive with short hair, but I've never know any attractive black girl with short hair, therefore, black girls have more reasons to have long hair than white girls. Anyway, my preference for any girl (of any color) is to have her hair long to her butt.
