Do some girls really don't like wearing dresses/skirts?

And I'm not talking about not liking to wear them because of body image issues or something similar. Or being a lesbian or a transsexual.

I'm talking about actually hating to wear dresses/skirts.

A girl the other day who tries so hard to be a tomboy said she hated dresses. I sometimes think that some girls try their best to be different or to have the "I'm such a boy" look but deep inside they wanna wear that cute dress as much as any girlie girl wants to.

Opinions?

Uh well be it I am into the same sex, being other girls, I always hated wearing skirts/dresses for it kind of restrains me and makes me very careful of how I sit or walk. I much rather wear shorts and pants for I can do much more without embarrassing myself,or rather accidentally flashing people. Yeah, it's pretty, but also female clothing, directed toward females also tend to not last long, are more rather for the look than say the quality of it,so if I am not careful the clothing could easily be ruined. Yeah my view is biased, also kind of off since I grew up with two brothers, but I also grew up with an older sister whom is pretty, yet not too girly,rather very fashionable. I personally rather be comfortable than dress to impress, at least when it comes to going to class,specially since I don't drive, rather cycle to school and back. Can you imagine how awkward it would feel riding a bike with a dress or skirt, specially when it rides up your legs? I personally would find such pretty bothersome.

I can wear them but I personally don't see a reason why, personally, specially when the quality of it is just horrid. I think of it this way, if I were to be stranded on some area or being chased by someone, which would I rather be wearing? I say pants, or shorts, rather than a skirt or dress, which I can trip over on or have chafing if I were to have my bike,if the skirt were too uh tight, and of course possibly flashing others, if I don't pull it down. It's pretty, but I don't really see it necessary, but then again I don't hate it, rather just don't see a reason for wearing such.So long story short, yes there are some girls whom don't like wearing dresses or skirts. How do I know, well I am a girl and I also happen to not like wearing skirts or dresses and I am not insecure.

Anyway who says not being feminine means someone is insecure? Hell, that is just silly and freaking stereotypical. It's as if saying if a dude isn't muscular and can't lift a car, or are too emotional they are just insecure.,which is just plain stupid and makes little sense. Yeah, girls are said to be feminine, but not all girls are the same, same with guys, some are more masculine, while others not so much. In the end we are all just human, some similar, some not so much.

I'd imagine that there are girls who truly just don't like wearing them. I knew a girl like that in high school who hated wearing a skirt. I could just tell that she didn't like it and she wasn't a tomboy per say but she wasn't a girlie girl either. But with that said yes I think there are posers out there and I was like that too when I was 13/14 and went through my "emo" phase where I secretly loved wearing dresses and cute stuff... it's embarrassing now that I think back to it but it was just a phase. Now I love wearing dresses when the weather permits but I do think some girls genuinely just don't like it.

I use to just genuinely hate dresses. Now, I like dresses, but I absolutely will not wear skirts unless it's a pencil skirt for work. I do not like skirts at all.

I think there are some "fakers" that tend to "force their maverick mentality" about being girlie...but imo most of the girls that don't like dresses don't like them because of the restricted movement of them more than the look itself.

no, I think that the idea of not wanting to be feminine, stems strictly from being insecure, tomboy is just an excuse of saying "i'm too insecure"

I don't wear them often because I have to be a lot more careful how I move. Undo occasionally enjoy them though. And I know a few girls who are very anti dresses. I don't get it.

i love wearing them! they can be less comfortable sure but hate is a strong word. I can see why a girl would not prefer them over pants based on comfort reasons.

Hate wearing dresses and skirts. Restricted movement isn't my favorite thing.

I personally hate dresses and skirts bc well, I just don’t like them, I prefer a nice pair of leggings or sweats. I just hate them! 😂 I hate them as much as I hate jeans

some honestly dont. I had a friend who looked beautiful in a dress but in 5 years of knowing her I only saw her wear a dress twice.
