Why did she hold eye contact with me?

I was at a party recently and there was this girl there I have a huge crush on. She caught me staring at her across the room. But instead of breaking eye contact she kept staring at me. I was freaked out and looked away thinking that she might have taken me as a creep, but when I looked back some three seconds back, she was still staring at me. What does that mean Because she has been showing some signs of interest in me lately but I never responded showing my interest in her.

You should asses what kind of girl she is and then decide your next move. Best way forward is to kill the awkwardness; if you two get into a staring situation again then well break eye contact and go up to her and talk to her casually (use a common topic picked out from the environment here for an ice-breaker). Don't act as if you fancy her but instead be confident, calm and collected. eye contact can be a good thing , what went wrong here is you didn't approach her once you had her attention from all the eye contact , you should of just said hi or something by that point
