What does it mean when a guys says that he's not easy, he's difficult?

This guy that I currently have a crush told me that he's not easy, he's difficult but a couple weeks ago he kept calling me his girlfriend. I don't understand why he said he's not easy, he's difficult, is he trying to play hard to get? Please let me know your thoughts because it's truly driving me nuts!

Hes not easy, sounds like he's letting you know ahead a time he's trouble. and that when things seem difficult he'll remind you later that he told you before "he's not easy" And if he's calling you his girlfriend you should ask him right out where your relationship stands, cause he's claiming you. and you both need to be in agreement on that.

I told him I was like "oh that means your going to break my heart" & he goes "no I'll never break your heart" & every time he sees me he always hugs & kisses me in front of his friends buttt then he told me "he's difficult, not easy" so it threw me off guard!
