Good question. Let's see, I've been to the movies, then there's that spontaneous dinner we had on new year's eve without any of our friends and then some pampering sessions - foot massage and facial... And yet at the end of it, we're still just friends. I guess you can say, they're dates (like your movie date too) but unfortunately for me, mine didn't end with a kiss or anything more so far. Oh well. C'est la vie. Have fun at the movies with your date ;o)

I often go but with male friends who I know most of my life or I know also only see me as a friend. Its never him or me asking to go to the movies its always more specific. Like if we're talking about new movies and we both want to see it or our respective s.o doesn't. I would never agree to go to the movies with a guy I don't know very well.
Yes, and I've done it lots of times, but only with guys who are long-standing friends only. It also depends what movie is playing. Some are not appropriate for guy-girl friends (hello, "Magic Mike"). If you go with a new guy friend, chances are 60/40 that you'll end up in a pretzel at the back of the theatre...
nooo... its not a date. well it might be but only you can tell. It depends on your relationship with the girl...
It depends on the context of the relationship. I hang out. With lots of girls just as friends.

yes it's a date! Unless she makes it very clear that it is not a date...by saying something like "as friends right?". Just don't have any expectations :)
u have to make it known it's a date.. if you don't say that, it can just be as friends hanging out.. so yeah they can go to movies just as friends :)
It doesn't necessarily mean its a date just because she said yes. I've been to movies with plenty of guy friends in the past. If you want it to be a date, make sure she knows that too.
Make it known to her. If she won't accept you to pay then maybe she's just going as friends
yea...it's a date
They sure can.
Yes, it is.
