How long is it normal to be sore after earlobe piercing?

i got my earlobe pierced on Thursday. no cartilage, just the lobe, but I have another stud in my lobe from before.

i went to a reliable place and the lady cleaned the materials and earring. it is a 10k gold earring.

right after I got it pierced my ear was sore, and I know that is normal. but it is still sore 4 days later and a little red around the new earring. the soreness might be slightly worse than the first day and it is not going away.

i have been cleaning with the solution and turning the earring as I was directed to, but it just hurts. last time I got a piercing it did not turn red and it did not hurt after 4 days. I am starting to get concerned.

should I take it out? I know the hole will close up but I don't really care. it wasn't expensive and my place will re pierce the hole for a lower price if it closes as long as you bring your receipt and original earring.

... What do you define as a "reliable place"? What did they pierce it with? A needle, or a gun?

If used a piercing gun, then of course it's still sore. Never let anyone use a gun to pierce you. Go to an actual piercer and let them use a needle. Much less painful and much more sanitary.

Whether you got it pierced with a gun or with a needle, wait it out a few more days. Give it about three more days to see if it starts showing any improvement. If there isn't anything green or yellow leaking out of it, then there isn't any real need to be alarmed. If it doesn't start at least showing a little improvement, go to a tattoo shop and ask them about it. They'll be able to tell you what to do.

What have you been cleaning it with? You just said "the solution". You didn't really specify what it is, though.

it was a gun I got it at piercing pagoda I have done it before there. last time I got it done the ear was only sore for a day and not red. that is why I am concerned. the solution is a special cleaning solution they give you after piercing.

Yeah, guns are never OK to use for piercings. Very bad. And they're not properly sanitized. Don't go back to them for advice to what to do with your piercing. If they were legitimate piercers, they wouldn't be using guns. And don't use that sh*t to clean it. Go buy some H2ocean from a tattoo parlor.

I got my first piercing really young and to me it healed quick (just a few months) but just two or so years ago I got my second lobe piercing and it seemed to take a year to heal and even now it just infected and swollen and closes up if I don't have jewelry in it for a while, unlike my bottom lobe piercings. I think it take years to truly heal..
