How quickly can piercings begin to heal?

I got 2 lobe, 1 cartilage and 1 nostril piercing 5 days ago. I’ve only seen some blood and crusties the day off and morning after. I don’t feel any pain in neither piercings during the day, just mild soreness when cleaning the cartilage and nose but it quickly goes away. I also take pics everyday and I haven’t seen any swelling or at least it’s not noticeable to me. Is it possible that the healing process is quicker than normal? Or would it begin to swell and have discharge in the upcoming days, say the 1 week - 2 week mark?

Also, I currently don’t use saline or salt water soaks. My piercer evaluated my skin and thought that it may be too drying for me , hence he gave me a soap solution to spray instead. Has anyone ever used only soap? I used salt water for my old lobe piercings and saw good results as well.

Piercings or any wound will start healing the second it happens, once blood gets into contact with oxygen it will immedeatly clump together and seal the wound.

Piercings take months to fully heal. No pain doesn’t equal fully healed. You shouldn’t change jewellery until at-least 1 month. If you start getting pus or lots of swelling or redness, visit your piercer and ask them about it. Otherwise, if you’re not having any issues then carry on like normal.

Yes my piercer told me I can check him in a month to replace the jewellery since he didn’t see any trauma (I think that’s it lol) I’ll look at it everyday for any changes and do accordingly. Thank you!

I've always used saline wound wash, works pretty well. Healing can happen faster than the projected time. I'd still wait the 8-12 weeks before changing jewelry out. Some materials are more irritating than others, if you're not fully healed it could lead to infection

I’m thinking of trying the saline wash, but every other day. If I’m doing it I won’t combine it with the soap in case it’s too much. I’ll wait until it’s absolutely healed then, cause I definitely don’t want an infection. Thanks for the advice 😊
