Longest time barefoot

After finishing my freshman year in college and living near campus I lost a bet and had to go barefoot for a month that summer. What is the longest you have gone barefoot?

When I was a kid I went barefoot all summer long, every single summer. At the beginning of April my mother would take all my shoes and socks, and not return them until November. She believed this was a fundamental part of a boy's childhood and said it would toughen me up and make me a man. I respected my mother so never dared to question this ritual. I guess I thought it was what every boy had to do. Strangely my sisters were given summer shoes and sandals to wear over the summer, and never had to go barefoot at all. I had a wonderful time going barefoot and still to this day will only wear shoes when the weather is cold.

When I was a kid, I went barefoot for the entire summer. By the end of the summer the soles of my feet were like leather.

The longest I've gone barefoot is about 3 months, during summer vacation.

During the summer I work at a swimming pool. On the job I'm in a swimsuit & my bare feet, & I go barefoot when I'm not working at the pool.

I love going barefoot!

I have spend max about 6 to 8 months barefoot. I could go barefoot all year but can't do it in the airport ;)

I had sort of a hippie period as a teenager, when I was 16 I went barefoot most of the summer then the year after when I was 17, I decided to try to be barefoot for as long as possible. I started going barefoot as soon as the snow had melted away in March and then spent all summer barefoot until it started to snow that winter. It was quite a cool experience and my soles would get so tough.
I still go barefoot occasionally but not all summer like that.

How did you buy groceries?

I went everywhere barefoot. Grocery stores, shopping malls, department stores, to take my finals. The first few days it felt really odd. I had gone out in public without a shirt many times and never gave it a second thought, but I had never felt so naked and vulnerable when I knew I had to to everywhere barefoot.
