Why does everything have to have a meaning?

Almost every day I see questions on this site like: "what does it mean when he/she does/says this?"

Seriously, what does it mean when the sun comes up every morning? It means it's daytime. OK, but what does that mean?

This really annoys me! Why can't people just be happy if someone smiles at them or gives them a compliment? Why do people HAVE to find a meaning behind almost every little thing someone else does or says?

What I mean is: people question things people say. Every single word should have a meaning and wonders why it has been said. Like: "why does she used the word "guy" and not "friend"?" or "she smiled at me, what does it mean?"

I mean questions like this. I don't mean to wonder the big things in life, that's normal, I get that. But having questions on here almost every day about "she smiled, what does she mean?", that just gives me the jeebies.

I'm with you there. I understand being confused at situations...but sometimes it's like..."Uh. Shut up. Quit over thinking it. Get to know them and find out instead of distracting yourself with all of the concerns...FOCUS on the moment...if there's anything...it will become clear. When you find there to enough reason...guide the conversation or take the risk. Put it out there and just try. You can't do that if all you're doing is wondering and worrying about what every detail means. Details can contradict depending on what you pick up on, the context you took it out of...etc so forth. Relax. Chill. Be HERE now.

Thank you! Not a lot of people understand my question or think "why are you asking about wondering about everything if you're wondering about that?" which isn't my question. I totally agree with you! If someone smiles, let them smile! If someone gives you a compliment: take it! Don't disect every little word they say...

If you don't like it then leave...? There are people on this site from under eighteen to who knows how old, and some people are going to be insecure and some are new at dating. And some people are in a situation they may have never been in before. Not everyone is like you. I understand where you are coming from, the whole sometimes a smile is just a smile. It has no meaning, but not everyone thinks that way.

The other half of this is how some people will never tell you what they're actually thinking, rather they tip toe around it and tell you in hints and symbols and get mad when the intended person doesn't pick up on it.

Maybe they're the same people asking what all these things mean; they're so used to not telling it as it is that they assume others do likewise all the time.

People think that most everything in the world can be explained in some way, causing a sudden epiphany in understanding something in their life. When trying to tell them that things in life are so fluid that they can't be explained so easily, as if things were black and white, and are either this or that possibility.

People just want an understanding of whatever it is they're after, but it hardly comes that easy in life.

Some people are insecure and can't believe that they actually received a compliment - which isn't a disguised insult or a backstab what they expected to hear

Sometimes people also don't tell what they really mean, but to figure it out you need to hear their tone of the voice and intonation to be sure, GaG couldn't help with that.. however, anyone can still watch do their actions match with words to know it for sure

People ask these questions, they want to hear the answers that they've already come up with in their heads. (Example: "If the sun comes up tomorrow, it means she likes me, if the sun doesn't come up then it means she doesn't.")

It's because this site is full of insecure people who have to over analyze every move made by them and/or their partners.

I'd believe it too... Even when you answer it and try to find a reason, even if we don't know that person at all, they still ask: yeah, but why?
