What does it mean when someone sends you a song to listen to?
There are a few different interpretations of this depending on the context. If you're in a relationship, it could be a sign of your partner's affection. They're saying, "I was thinking of you and this song made me think of you."
Maybe they're hoping to get a rise out of you with a saucy song, or perhaps they're simply sharing a song they think you'll enjoy.
If you're not in a relationship with the person who sent you the song, it could be interpreted a few different ways. They could be trying to flirt with you, or perhaps they're just trying to be friendly. If you don't know the person very well, it might be best to tread cautiously - you don't want to give them the wrong impression.
In any case, getting a song from someone usually means that they were thinking of you and wanted to share something with you. It's a nice gesture, and it's always nice to receive a little musical inspiration from a friend.

It almost always has a meaning, as if that person is trying to tell you something through that song. But if it went something like "have you listened to that song...its awesome you should..." then it probably just means that its a good song and that person thinks you might enjoy it :) hope that was helpful
Ok, so this guy is always telling me to listen to music but he always straight forward that he wants me to listen to it he just mentions it and if I don't say anything about it later on he'll say "listen to it" and when I hear it he asks "how was it?"
usully when I send a song to someone it has meaning to it. the lyrics may help someone going through something or it has the lyrics that say the words you may not otherwise know how to say.
When I send people songs, its because the music sounds good, there isn't any meaning or specific context behind it.
I don't know.
Its a long shot but maybe they like the song and thought you would as well?

It could mean different things to different people. Some people just want to share an awesome song. Some people are trying to send a "message"...it depends.
it's an opportunity for you to destroy their self-esteem because they are being vulnerable
