Guys that read books ...

Question

Ladies am I the only one that finds it incredibly sexy when I see a guy reading a novel. It just makes me what to do all kind of nasty things to him. It’s just so SEXY! And Guys, why don’t more of you read? Do you think if most of you knew that it was a huge turn on more of you would do it? And If you do read can you be mine?

I also think is really hot when a girl reads, but also many girls dont, people in general dont, girls usually do it more than us, but is not quite the sexy kind of reading that we expect, I mean, pretty much any girl I know has read Twilight or 50 Shades, or The Hunger Games, I liked the Games, didn't really cared for Twilight and could not bare keep reading 50 Shades, for me those are "random" reads, most girls read them out of fashion, not because they are avid readers, is still GREAT that they read, but won't drive me crazy in love, for instance, since I read A LOT, I often answer with a quote from a book when I feel the situation calls for it, but often I find no one that listens recognizes what I'm talking about, even if I quote popular books like Harry Potter or the Bible, and will only understand it if is a quote like "may the odds be ever in your favor" or "and so the lion feel in love...", so I'm usually used to be the only one who understands my references :P (seriously, even HP or LOTR, if the quote was not in the movie, they don't know it)

but my GF, I was impressed and hooked since day one for many reasons but one BIG one was that I spoke and she asnwered with yet another quote of whatever book or author I was quoting, not only showing she got it, but that she also can "play the same game", it also has gotten a BIG thing from us to give each other a novel/poem/essay to read every time we celebrate one more moth together, or even write something to each other, I remember when we started dating she went like "you read X? how about Y?" realizing I read a lot she went to find some "obscure" novel that she was sure I had not read and also sure that, by what I had expressed of the books I liked or didnt, I was going to LOVE, and I did, I was Amazed by her suggestion, and totally shared mine.

still it does seems like is not particularly a thing the world expects a man to do :P WOMEN may like a man who reads, but girls find it wierd, my sister (teen) friends, will find me reading in my cell phone and be like "wow, that's a long text", but when it is clear it is actually a book, they will be like "is it erotic?" as if that was the only kind of reading a man can make :P

I read daily, on public transportation, whenver I sit on a bench to relax, at lunch time (since I eat too fast and have free time) but often find that not only I'm the only one doing it, but more often than not it goes noticed and answered with weird looks :) but that only adds up to the fact that when I see someone reading, and is either a book I find unusual, or one I have yet to read is such a turn on :) now if it is a book I never heard about and the cover/title seems interesting I could HARDLY refrain from start chatting with the person that holds the book.

I doubt that knowing it turns someone on would

make more people read, to be honest.

You have to enjoy reading from the base

of your heart and have a good imagination

to get really into a book.

My favorite author started off writing fairytales

for kids, now she writes something I call

"realistic-fantasy" which I really enjoy ^.~

A love of reading is definitely an attractive attribute for me. Though, that includes for friends, as well.

I am an avid reader, and also a speed reader. When I find people who read as much as I do, I try not to let them go, haha.

A little while ago, a local thrift store with a large selection of books, had a 50% off sale on all books and magazines, and the ladies there were so shocked that someone as young as myself, would buy as many as I did.

Most people I know, men and women, hate reading and won't read unless they absolutely have to. It's just sad.

I love fantasy and science fiction, it's awesome. I don't have all that much time to read though :(. Such a shame, I love it. Especially when it's a really immersive novel, I generally read non stop until I'm done, then I wanna read more xD

Guess what? In order to answer this question, we had to read. =P Anyway, I read tons of stuff, but most of the time they aren't novels. I do read novels on occasion, but there are usually more useful things to read.
