Why are so many non-white women so color-struck?

I've notice that most women especially non-white women drool over any white guy (even if he's ugly) who talks to them but when it comes to non-white men they lift up their standards and always seem to find something wrong with him.

I've seen this with mostly asian,Indian,Hispanic,arab,white, and yes sometimes black (but not as common as the rest) and it sucks.

I want to hear from non-white women like asian,Indian,Hispanic,arab and yes white too on why so many only prefer white guys and not others and the sad part many would ratherstay single until a white man ask them out.

Are we talking about non-white women who live in western countries? There's some are more traditional who prefer to stay with their roots/culture/family obligations...etc. And there's some that are more westernized and are open to diversity and such. And then there are some that will never marry their own because they don't like how the men in their culture treat them like objects and/or are more traditional, headstrong, stubborn, violent, etc. So they believe that white guys are better (for the most part...).

Another reason: media and environment obviously! I live in a diverse city and see beautiful women of all colors on the streets all the time! And on tv, movies, hollywood, etc, it's mostly beautiful white women. So naturally, being the open and curious natured guy that I am, I'm attracted to all women of all ethnicities!

well I live in Vancouver. It's predominantly east Asian and Indian immigrants now with a decreasing white population. No such thing as a redneck unless you go into a small town in BC or further east...lol Same with black canadian men unless you go to Seattle. Again...based on environment as well. lol

I blame European standards of beauty. There is not one country I can think of, who isn't brainwashed by these standards. It's not even just a complexion thing. The media always put white people in the limelight, making them seem so superior, wonder, and great. There are more positive images of them than us. It's sad, but its true.

Its very biased of you to make it seem like there are more colorstruck women of color than men of color. I think it goes both ways. I can't tell you how many guys I've heard say " Oh she's too dark," "I only like girls with this complexion , these "not so ethnic" facial features, etc.

As a black person, I can say there are A LOT of colorstruck black people as well. If the race isn't white, there is going to colorism amongst its people.

For men it's mainly black men I've seen who were colorstruck rather than other races I'm Hispanic and in my culture it's mainly the women who go looking for light skin men while the men couldn't care less,same goes with asian,Indian,Arab etc

I'm Mexican and I like guys from any race but I do have a preference for my own race. To me, no race is better than any other so I wouldn't get all overexcited because a white guy is talking to me. He would be like any other guy. No big deal.

Yeah I think its a girl thing to take on the personality of their partner. Its funny I was just reading this in my psychology book before signing on today.

Girls tend to adopt the choices and desires of their partner due to traditional gender roles. I guess some girls would rather try to be who they think their partner expects them to be rather than show them who they are.

I am a part of Indian and Asian.I can't speak for other non white women because I am not really sure about their culture.I don't think the obsession has something to do with color.It usually related to status or money.Beside that, as everyone know in Asia and India women are treated as second class citizen.Women aren't treated equally as men so I guess once they met a man who treat them nice and good they decided to stick to that race.

I come from a Sri Lankan background and I find myself mostly attracted to white men. Don't get me wrong, I find some guys from all races/ethnicities attractive, but I generally end up with mostly white guys. I don't think it has anything to do with race itself, it's probably just because between the ages of 11-17 I lived in towns with a predominantly white population, so it was what I was around.

I actually don't think white guys are necessarily better looking. I think it's more that I like chilled out - guys who are outdoorsy and ladsy - really Aussie guys. They just tend to be white. I'm not "color struck". I've dated non-white guys before and found them plenty attractive, but personality wise we haven't meshed as well.

i'm not and I have "white" neighbors in my village and I never drool over them :). I envy their skin color though cause I love going to the beach and just few hours in the sun I get really dark and it takes a long time and lots of brightening lotion to get back to normal lol. I imagine that if I have their skin color I can stay out in the sun all day long without worrying that my skin will get too dark ^-^.

I'm attracted to guys of pretty much any ethic background. I grew up around a lot of diversity though, so maybe that has something to do with it. I find many different features and shades of skin attractive, it just has to suit the person and come together well. I don't have a preference for white guys.

Well I'm Hispanic and race/ethnicity has never been something I focus on when I like a guy...I always focus on their personality. I have always been around people with different races/ ethnicities in school and living in Miami Florida you see and interact with people from everywhere. So personally to me it doesn't matter where he's from or what race he is.

I prefer white guys because that's what I'm physically attracted to, but I wouldn't avoid dating a guy just because he isn't white. Besides basic attraction though, maybe some women feel that white guys will treat them better because of stereotypes about men of other races...?

With what you're saying I feel like you're putting all the blame on the guys. If a woman changes herself just because of who she's dating then I would say the problem is her. A woman would have to be unhappy with herself to begin with if she becomes completely different after meeting a man. Being attracted to white men does not mean I want to change my personality in any way shape or form. The only thing I envy about white girls is their hair, I'm happy with everything else about myself.

Hmm, not unconvinced. There are plenty of Hispanic people who look white or are descendants of European Spanish as opposed to indigenous peoples.

I've known quite a few who vehemently denied any indigenous part of their blood and will only claim the 'European by way of German, Italian, Spanish' part of their heritage.
