I've actually been in this situation. She wasn't ugly, but some people (mainly girls) thought that I could do better. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder , honestly I wasn't very attracted at first. She had one of the best personalities in a girl I have ever seen. She had such a beautiful soul and such a wonderfully open mind. She taught me how to live and to become the best me I could be at the time. Every now and again as a guy you will meet a girl who will wow you with her mind so much so that her looks may take a backseat. These women aren't common and should be cherished.
I've seen a few other guys fully whipped by these women. They are usually confident, have a great and positve outlook on life and genuinely want to see their partner grow and be a proud person.
When I see these couples I think that the dude has found himself a "ride or die" chick and I am very happy for them if they seem happy

I was with a girl who was prego and after birth until this Fourth of July. Roughly six months. I still see her. The thing is, she was very laid back, sex wasn't an issue... Four plus times in three hours... Omg..anyways, she regained her figure. We broke up, welli broke up with her because of the college I'm going to go to. Tbh, I still love her and don't think any less of her. Although she has shown me her journal and fears she had early on about me not treating her The same. Many would not advocate being with a girl like her, but out of all my relationships, she is th most mentally stable girl I have met. Maybe she needs to get her priority straight, but outside that, she is great person, maybe not a model, but still beautiful in my eyes.
I think.. immediately! (He must have a low self esteem or too shy to approach better looking women, so he settles).. & Even though I think that.. and that's probably the case in most situations.. I know that that's not always the case:]! and sometimes the ugly girl either has a really good body, gives him sex like no other better looking girl he's been with so far, or she actually has an inner deeper connection with that hot guy than any other hot girl he's dated before.
I don't get jealous though, or think like "oh, why can't he be with me! I'm better looking!" because that's retarded! lol

@Update: That's highly unlikely.. Maybe a very good looking guy with average body or very thin body with a fat ugly girl who is getting fatter by the second is common.. I've seen that a lot.. but a very muscular guy, awesome body who is also good looking with a very heavy girl who keeps getting fat? who is also ugly? Where do you see that? Show me that! Maybe he's too busy at the gym to pay attention to his growing whale beside him xD
My step dad's daughter. She has a black man as her fiance, and he is gifted with genetics like me. I could eat a whole pig and would not get fat. Whilst on the other hand, she got obese for some reason. I looked at her pics when she was in her later teens and I was like waaa? she could have been a model.
but is he also attractive regardless of how attractive his physical is? like he has a gorgeous face too ? not only body wise.. and if he fell in love with her while she was thiner then putting on some weight doesn't "always" mean your parter will leave you, especially if they truly love you.

Then if he's ugly, they don't fit as a good example of what I asked you... What you are asking for in your update is HIGHLY unlikely... if he has a good body but not so attractive without his hot body it's not uncommon for him to have a fat ugly gf.. nor is it rare to see a very thin or average guy with a very fat girl.. but if he's good looking and has an awesome body, if the girlfriend is fat.. she must at least be adequately attractive.. Otherwise.. it's not possible.. or like I said, VERY UNLIKELY.
Honestly if I think the guy is like super attractive and the girl is very average, my first thought is "Whaaaaat that's unfair!" and I wonder if he thinks I'm more attractive. But then I stop being mean and selfish and think, "Good for her, she must have a really great personality or something". And I also think that she must get jealous a lot so I feel a little bad for her.

I've dated "below my league", and so I know how harsh other people can judge. When I see a couple like that on the street, my first thought will always be that I respect the guy's confidence, because dealing with other people's judgments takes a lot of balls.
There are many things a guy looks for when it comes to relationships. Good looking girls are usually high maintenance, and as guys, when we find ourselves with a satisfactory sex life, we like to avoid drama and high maintenance like the plague. Some girls that are not super hot have figured out that what guys treasure most after food and sex is just to be left alone and have a bit of silence at the end of a hard day at work. Those girls, regardless of their looks, are the true relationship material.
a lot could play a part in it, first if she is unattractive because of her weight maybe she had a kid and can't get back her figure. he probably went through a lot of girls and just decides looks isn't everything. Some may be beautiful but remember, every beautiful girl you see, there is some guy out there that is tired of hitting it. Girls are also toughest people to live with, I'm lucky with my girl cause she is very easy to live with, she doesn't have huge boobs or nothing, but she's pretty and takes care of me. Only downside I guess is she gets jealous if I talk to another girl, but I guess that's normal.
I see this quite often and stare at them for a long time.

I once saw a hot teenage guy whose girlfriend has such horrible red skin that the skin looked as if it's moulting.But when I looked at their body language.Wow!They are such a passionate pair and I hope they would be in love together for the rest of their lives.
She probably has a great personality which is a good thing because with time looks fade, but I'd still feel bad for her every time she goes out with him since people are always gonna be like " Ohhh what is he doing with herr " and sh*t like that, people are mean lol

I assume he hasn't got game, though. I know it's often said that it's all about personality. Well, IMO, most people don't have amazing personalities, the kind of personality that would totally make up for physical ugliness. Certainly, an amazing personality is no more common in an ugly person than in an average person or a hot person. An ugly person's actually more likely to be bitter than someone better-looking.
I am so tired of that! I swear all of the hot guys are taken by girls that aren't on there level!
So I think it's one of three reasons:
1. They are easy (don't mean the wife just in general)
2. Love is truly a mysterious thing
3. Love is deeper than physical apperance
whats wrong with that? what happens if he likes her personality? I was "dating" this girl for I guess a few months. and she was absolutely gorgeous, one of the most attractive girls I've ever seen. I always thought to myself how I landed her. she ended up being a real piece of work. so I stopped seeing her. id rather have someone less attractive per say and have an awesome connection and someone I can get along with than a hot, attractive, annoying personality.
Not everyone knows where they are on the scale of beauty. My last boyfriend was obese, ugly and carried himself with an air of entitlement. I appeared to be the trophy girlfriend. Always in high-heels, well presented and with perfect hair and makeup. People stared, gawked and straight out dropped their jaws on the floor when they say us together. It took me longer than it should have to figure it out.
I feel like I'm that couple sometimes lol

It all depends on the person's taste. He could be a gold digger. He could also be a guy who fell in love with a girl who just seemed to be ugly to other people. Lots of people have different tastes; there is no standard on beauty.

And also looks aren't the only thing that goes into consideration when people become a couple.

I personally think there is no way this could happen. I'm not one for superficiality, BUT I do believe that looks are #1 for men. Hot men must be with women hotter than themselves, otherwise it really won't work out.
I've never seen that. I see hot girls with ugly boyfriends occasionally, but for the most part I see couples who are on the same level of attractiveness.
If I saw it, I would probably think, "that's a refreshing change." And then move on.
@update: Perhaps when they got married, they were both hot or both fat. When my parents got married, my mom was fit and my dad was overweight, and now my dad is an exercise junkie and my mom isn't as thin as she used to be (she looks good for 47, but not as good as she used to).
At any rate, if they're married they must love each other despite how they look. Very few people marry someone whose personality they dislike just because they're hot.
Just because you might find the girl unattractive, doesn't mean he does. Also just because the guy is "hot" doesn't make her lucky, he could be the biggest douche bag. Personally for me looks isn't everything. If we can't connect at all, share laughs or similar interest, than what's the point.
I think this guy values more than looks...and is bold / confident enough to go for a girl he is compatible with and not caring about other people he knows saying "he could do better".

Though, being a less attractive girl myself, there seems to be a small subset of guys who are attracted to unattractive traits (such as a long nose, in my case). Almost all of their partners display this particular trait.
Either he is using her for her money, or he enjoys being the good looking one because it allows him to wield more power in the relationship. Same thing I think when I see a hot girl with an ugly guy.
