What does it mean ''You're nothing to me until you're everything to me''?

What is the meaning behind this saying? Is it: you are nothing to me until I change my mind about you?...Friends, I am confused!

It means you either be with that other person, or you part ways for good with them. People don't want to suffer through the confusion of having feelings for someone else, when the signs look good but they could just be being friendly and nothing more. It starts to take a serious toll after a while. It's why many guys and girls can't just be friends.

It's times like these where you have to consider what that other person means to you. If you don't want to lose them, give them a chance to get to know you as more than friends. If they're not worth it then don't ever speak to them again. Don't play with their emotions. Believe it or not, a simple hello or friendly text can get someone that's crazy about you literally high on hope.

Either you try and love them back, or you stay away from them. It's an ultimatum, and one to be taken seriously. The other person is likely already hurting.

I do this.

Essentially, if I trust you, I will really trust you with a lot of stuff.

If not... well you're treated pretty similarly to everyone else I meet.

Why do I do this? I've got trust issues and this is a lot easier to do then dynamically adjusting how I treat everyone.

This could mean love, I think every person is special but what do they mean to me when it comes to staying in my life-being an active component in my daily grind.

I think this could mean, I don't care if you leave until I couldn't stand if you left (which sounds like a terrible way of avoiding an answer and just giving a simple statement) :) but I think it means that the person doesn't care if the person is in their life until they love them. And then they don't want the person to go and that person means the most to them.

like in love - the person who falls for you - you become invaluable to them
