I truly believe most people who talk like this are trying to cover something. Basic logic tells us that humans are social creatures and we naturally conform into a society. If you're ostracized by society, then it's going to significantly impact your life in a negative way. Human's who don't have a social life suffer from depression and some even go insane in periods of long term isolation. So of course we care what others think to an extent. That's in no way an admission to insecurity. Why do people need to go out of their way to say these things such as they don't give a shit about the acceptance of others?

Or I saw a question asking if people are afraid of death. Almost half of the people said that they're not afraid of death. Dude, I'm calling bullshit. I'm a ghetto street cop and my heart was pounding every time I had to pull out my weapon. All of my friends in the Marine Corps told me their first experience in combat, and it was all same story of them telling me that they were about to shit their pants. My best friend who's a firefighter tells me he practically shits his pants on some of the calls he goes on too. When I found out I had cancer, my heart literally stopped and I was emotionally numb for a good week. That's all scary shit. Even people who take their own lives are scared. You're telling me that your very existence on this planet being taken away does not evoke any emotion of fear? Bullshit. Are people trying act like they're tough by saying this?

I know there's a lot of other examples, but I guess you get the gist of what I'm getting at. It's like they're trying so hard to come across as confident or strong, that it pushes past the limits of what's actually rational.

If someone said to you and meant it, like "oh wow, you look young for your age". Would you take it as a complement, take it another way? How does it feel? It certainly be better with some other ego bosts along with it... beautiful, handsome, etc..

Is there a better thing to respond when someone hears your age? like being indirect... ex.
"oh wow, do you feel as young as your beautiful looks are projecting"? Is that even better?

I've had women say... you look 35, 38, 27, 48, you look young... they were not drunk... lol:) I took it as complements. How about you? What can your lover say to you?

These two classifications of vehicles besides motorcycles are my favorite.

The lifted truck is the living embodiment of what I would consider the be all do all manly vehicle. Using it to go camping, for work. Etc.

Where as sports cars are just flat out sexy af 😍🤤 with the purring engine sound when on idle and using a manual transmission to shift through all the gears, feeling the torque hit you to the core, and hear the rpm’s rise as the engine screams and echo’s off the buildings on the street.

I love both. And either way my next vehicle purchase will be one of the two.

In Season 1 I was routing for Castle to put down Russo and make him suffer. But now that in season 2, he can't remember his crime and viewed Castle as his only friend, I feel really bad for him.

That scene when he realized the skulls in his nightmare is actually Castle 😭😭😭😭😭😭i feel so bad for russo. And I'm starting to realize how much of a maniac castle is.
