A ceiling fan is an efficient and eco-friendly way to regulate the temperature in a room. In summer, it blows air down to keep things cooler. In winter, it circulates hot air (which rises) keeping the room warmer.

In the last century many changes have rolled through society between the sexes. Changes in dynamics, expectations, responsibilities and appearance.

This last one is where the question is about. The last few generations of humanity have seen women's attire change from feminine to masculine and everything in between and men have generally accepted and been welcoming of such things and little has happened in regards to whether men will see women dressed in skirts and dresses or jeans and hoodies are appealing and attractive and worthy of dating and this leads me to see men as more accepting of this change.

However, I do not believe the same can be said for women. WOULD women still find a man dressed in more feminine ways as appealing and attractive and worthy of dating?

Calligraphers, especially in Hebrew, Arabic & Asian writing systems always FASCINATED me with their METICULOUS FLAWLESS BEAUTIFUL works of art - especially Arabic calligraphy.

AND DONT GET ME STARTED ON INK COLORS!! Black should be banned just cuz it's so fucking boring!! There's a rainbow 🌈 to choose from!!

Fun fact: We had to ban glitter gel pens in the late aughts for essays at my school due to its ability to create near perfect indentation on the next piece of paper so the kids could use it with another teacher simply by tracing or writing it at home and tracing it when in class. The tip never fell out of the groove and you REALLY had to look to spot it! Girls got away with it for a while until the boys fucked it up.

What Do You Think About Spanking Kids As Discipline?

Hey everyone, I'm curious to get your thoughts on the topic of spanking kids as a form of discipline. I know it's a pretty controversial and sensitive issue, but I'm really interested to hear different perspectives on it.

From what I understand, spanking was way more common in the older generations—a lot of people grew up with their parents using it as a way to discipline them if they were really disrespectful or did something bad. The idea was that it would help teach them right from wrong and keep them in line.

But these days, a lot of people seem to be moving away from that and trying other methods instead. Some folks think there are better ways to discipline kids that don't involve physical punishment. They're worried it could end up scarring the kids or damaging their relationship with their parents.

So I'm curious what you all think about it. Do you have any personal experiences with being spanked as a kid, or seeing it used in your family? What were the effects, both positive and negative? And for those of you who are parents now, how do you approach discipline with your own kids?

I am moving back into my mom's house. The tech job market has been destroyed, and since I was fired from my last role during July of last year, I haven't been able to recover since. Fortunately, both floors of the house are its own autonomous living area, and I will be getting the top floor to myself and my fiance.

There is a lady that rents the bottom floor and she has this bitchy friend she took in briefly. She sported a Harris/Waltz sticker (what a fucking idiot, right?) on her car and she still has it. She always has a bitch face and was hostile towards me. I told my mom I would be violent towards this bitch if I moved back home and she was still there. Well, she is moving out in a matter of days. It is satisfying watching her pack her shit and leave.

Do you have other hangups like cash, coins, ATMs, Uber surfaces, toilet levers, vending machines, elevator buttons, napkin / condiment dispensers, cashiers hands, etc that you try to avoid or wash up ASAP?

I learned yesterday about the deaths of 3 people whom I used to volunteer with at the rescue squad back in 2013-2014. All three were in their 50s when they passed. I assume all passed from ailments. 2 died in 2024. 1 died January this year.

Most of them hated me, but I couldn't help but to feel somewhat bummed and saddened. Most of them had kids that are even a few years younger than me! It is a reminder that change happens and this world moves on while the departed is absent. A lot of people wake up unaware they may die suddenly that day or within the next 10 years.
