If you know someone who is still broke in their 30s and 40s, what is your theory as to why that is the case?

Bad money management (Has enough of it, just spends it stupidly)
Doesn't have a great job
a lot of responsibilities (multiple kids, cars)
Their man or woman doesn't help them out financially
Debts they are paying off
