How Many CARS do you OWN?

In today's world, unless you live in a city with excellent mass transit (rare in the United States), a car is a necessity to get around.

Please tell us in the poll how many cars you own, and whether you are a couple (married or not) or an individual.

FYI... My wife and I live in the suburbs of a large city and have two cars, hers (10 years old) and mine (14 years old).

I'm married.

I've owned only trucks since 1979, when I acquired my first fishing boat.

I started out driving in '74 with a pretty sweet '62 Bel-Air, then a nice looking '70 "Gold" Plymouth Duster in metal-flake green.
After I discovered the joys of fishing from a boat, though, my car days ended.

My wife is an SUV-er.
She drives a 2012 Tahoe.
She used to, anyway, before her brain cancer started closing in on her vision.
It's still in the garage, though, with both of us hoping that she can return to driving.

I've been happily driving a 1999 Meadow Green & Pewter 2-tone extended cab Chevy Silverado for many years now.
It was one of the first off of the line when the newer styled, revamped Chevy trucks came into production.
26-plus years later, I still call her my "new" truck, and she looks it, too.
I get compliments on it and offers to buy it almost everywhere I go.

I could never replace it at the cost of new trucks these days.
She's been a great vehicle for all of these years.

So, no cars in our stable.
A truck, an SUV, a bass-boat for the bigger lakes, and a jet-drive jon-boat for the rivers fills out our garage.
Advancing age and infirmity has limited the use of all of them, unfortunately, but I hope to once again get out on the water, wetting a line.

We are a couple and each have a car.
Mine is a red 2010 Toyota Rav4 Limited, 6 cyl, 4WD, fully loaded, in great condition with 118,000 miles.
My wife's is an "alien green" 2012 Kia Sol in great condition with about 180,000 miles.

one in LA and i get driven around a lot for my job in LA and other cities and i can always have a car when i need one but i don't too often, Fiancé has one that's very impractical sometimes so adding mine to his mix has been helpful

I have a brand new car about 3 or 4 times a year. Like you say even though the transport system is good where I live, a car is sometimes essential, though I prefer to cycle most of the time.

The best way of owning a car for me, is to hire one when needed.

My wife has a Nissan Armada and I have a Nissan Maxima. We used to have a beater of a car that we kept around just for hauling junk or to use if one of our cars was in the shop, but it finally died about a year ago.
