2.7K opinions shared on Other topic. I've personally owned seven.
When I got my driver's license at age 16, my parents gave me a 1966 Rambler American two door hard top.
When that wore out, my dad gave me his 1963 Buick Le Sabra 2 dr hard top. It had a 401 cu V-8 with 4 barrel carb and was a GREAT car.
After that, I bought a 1969 Chevy El Camino with auto trans.
I sold that later to buy a souped up, semi-race 1972 El Camino.
I traded that in for an economical Datsun 200B because my new job required a long commute.
But from around 1982 through 2009 I drove company cars. They gave me a new one whenever I reached 80-100,000 miles, which was about every two years. They gave me nice ones and I got to choose what colors. The company paid for fuel, maintenance and everything on the cars, but I drove them 24/7 as if they were my own.
I must have had 14 or 15 company cars.
Since 2009, I've owned two personal cars. I bought a used Prius in excellent condition for quite a few years. Then, a few years ago, I bought my current car, a 2010 Rav4 Limited w/4WD in mint condition. I love this car.10 Reply

+1 yI’ve had four in 27 years of driving:
1994 Dodge Shadow
2002 Chevy Blazer
2012 Honda CR-V
2013 Cadillac ATS
The Caddy has shat the sheets beyond being worth repairing, I’m currently driving my old man’s 2013 Honda Pilot, since he’s 90 and doesn’t drive anymore. I *think* I’m basically assuming ownership of that one now, haha. But he’s weird, he might want me to buy my own so there’s a backup car hanging around. Might as well just fix the Caddy and keep it as the “oh shit” option, I guess, if he’d just give up the Pilot. He thinks he might have a chance to drive again one day, but that’d be some straight up Mr. Magoo shit, no chance that’s happening on my watch😂

I believe in keeping a car until it is no longer economical to keep running. I have also owned half a dozen motorbikes and had several company cars.

+1 yAbout the same number that you get when you roll a dice. But the dice don't land on a one or a zero so you keep rolling. After a while you get out a deck of playing cards and somehow draw the King of hearts. Then you take it and you say you will use that later on down the road, well what happens is that you loose it.
Now you're one card short of a full deck. So you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around and that is what card counting is all about THAT'S RIGHT.
Then you have a few beers and maybe a sip of rum and a Dr. Pepper. You go home drunk and half asleep with your buddy driving the car which really turns out to be a station wagon. You are home have no money no kids and are just sick and tired of it.
You jump on this website and see this question and you answer it. Like I did. Thank you very much and you're welcome10 Reply4.6K opinions shared on Other topic. I've owned about a dozen, but most of them have been older cars that were cheap. When I was working in IT and I took BART (the commuter train system in the Bay Area) and had to park my car at the station, I bought an old Dodge Colt (a rebadged Mitsubishi Mirage) to drive there and kept my nice car in my garage. No one ever messed with that pile of junk, but the SUVs and BMWs were often broken into, stolen, or had their wheels stolen.
I have also sold several of my second cars to friends and family members, because I am pretty good at finding those cars, so I will take a couple of weeks to replace them until I can find a good deal on something.
It's not easy to do that at the moment because the car market is so crazy, but there are still deals around if you know what to look for, and more importantly, if you know what to walk away from.10 Reply
+1 yOnly the one so far.
It served my mom well then I bought it and used it for 5 years until last year when it was time to scrap it.
The very last year I had it rigged to work without my keys because the mechanism was all faulty and too expensice to repair, so it felt like stealing my own car every time I was about to start it.😅
But in the end there was just too much rust on it, it had to go.
Saving to get a new car now. But also unsure what to get next since gasoline is so expensive for the forseeable future and although getting a Tesla seems like a good idea it's only good if my country decide to fix the energy-problems. Otherwise it might not be worth it from an economic standpoint. It will have to wait.10 Reply
+1 yQuite a few,
I used to buy cars at auctions, my ex wife would fix them up etc and we would sell them on.
from those we would keep some.
even now I tend to have 2 cars on drive, one for normal stuff and one for fun stuff.12 Reply- +1 y
Yeah it paid for a lot of other investments
995 opinions shared on Other topic. Three. 1988-1992, 1992-2009, and 2008-date.
Traded in the first for the second, had an accident with the second, still driving the third. It's a lot less stressful driving a car with a few dents than trying to keep it perfect. And it runs fine. (I just have to disable the check engine light, it's annoying!)10 Reply

They're reliable and designed well. I was actually adamant I didn't want a civic prior to buying the 2nd one until I drove it. The corolla, suzuiki, saturn and first honda were manual transmission.
