The thing about those types of statistics regardless if its NYC or not is that is deceiving and meant for political propaganda.

For ex. Gas prices are currently 4 Dollars plus but if it goes down to 3.25 a gallon next month, some will be happy saying prices are now reasonable but the reality is that's still damn too high for a gallon of gas just not as high as 4 plus.

NYC just like all major cities have a lot of crime, so don't propaganda fool you.
