Nah. I signed up for a dating site with the intent of finding local friends only and was very clear about that in my profile.

This one guy was pretty adamant though about something more and... well... it worked. He and I have been together for the last 3.5 years. I would never do it again though lol

I am hideous so there was no kind of validation that I could receive that would ever make me like how I look so using a dating site for that purpose makes no sense for me.

The ones I've used were mainly for actually finding dates. Never joined just for validation. But I did once sign up with a friend just for fun to see if there are any guys we know on it but that was a one evening thing.

I considered signing up to muckyboots but never went through with it. I can't see the logic of doing it for validation as every women on these things gets bombarded with requests anyway.
