Have you ever been blocked by users without any apparent reason?

I’ve been blocked by two users, even though I haven’t had any problems with either of them. I also heard about this from another person who said that the system blocks users automatically. Now I’m experiencing it myself on my own account. Have you ever noticed anything like this?

I’ve blocked a lot of people here. The majority of them i only blocked because i found out that they blocked me. G@G is lousy about allowing people to see posts from people who have blocked them. Despite blocking them producing a message that indicates neither of you should see the other’s posts once you block them. However, i can’t tell you how many times i’ve typed out a typically wordy response to a question only to find out that i’m not allowed to post because they blocked me!
I find blocking them in return solves that problem, but it’s not like we get a message when someone blocks us. So that woeful waste of time and energy is always a possibility.
The majority of people who blocked me, i assume they did so because they don’t like my responses. I know of two who blocked me when they learned that i was a progressive. Good riddance.
Most of the people i have blocked, i did so because they insisted on being liars, hypocrites and/or trolls. A few of them i offered warnings because some of their responses seemed mindful and well thought through while others were just crazy or stoopid. Once their contributions are more asinine than not, i just give up on them. Life is too short to suffer f*ckwits, even if they are only part time f*ckwits. Ell oh ell!

I’d say my most common known reason for being blocked is for debating someone on politics, they just didn’t have the bat speed, and they got checkmated. Usually my opinion will suddenly disappear, I’ll try to post again, and it will say I’m blocked by the user. Those are the real Ws that give me GAG-related life, lmao.

The others are usually a surprise. I assume something I said is triggering to their worldview, and they just don’t want to see it. Fair enough; I’m not for everyone.

The only block I really know the reason for was a guy who I was arguing with about something, I think I would get him confused with a different user who I liked less, I think I was just trying to end the argument, I was in a pissy mood, and I think I was saying “look, we obviously don’t like each other, let’s just drop it.” He was like “I didn’t know you didn’t like me”, and I felt bad, I think I realized I was giving him the energy more appropriate for the guy I was confusing him with. I apologized, said I didn’t dislike him, explained I had him confused, but he blocked me anyway. C’est la vie🤷‍♂️

But that one was maybe my bad. All the rest are mostly unexplained.

among other things... this is a site for opinions

not everyone will always agree with our opinions, and for some people... they don't want to see opinions they're are against to or not in favor

even if we do not engage or interact directly with people... our opinions, comments replies are there... and some people just will not want to see them, so they can simply block them

I've been blocked quite frequently.

I presume it's because I have been fairly outspoken in the past (such as over covid).

But I guess what people hate the most is people who dare express their opinions. In all, I think they're a bunch of pansies.

When you are a moderator, trolls automatically block you. It's hilarious how they think that changes anything here. I won't complain, as I am blocking people almost daily. Almost all anonymous users.

Yeah, but I also hide behind the biggest block list on the site too. I pretend I don’t care who blocks me, but I am constantly viewing questions when logged out because I am obsessed with seeing if anyone ever talks about me. I block people just for taking my xper bonuses even if I never talk to them. I attack everyone on here so it’s no surprise I am one of the most blocked people on the site, even bY the person I used to tag constantly. I block the woman haters who dont ask questions but I try not to block people who ask questions because I can use them for xper and it gives me a chance to call them names, which I need to do on here daily to feel better about myself. I blocked every mod on the site too so they can’t remove all my posts , except for one I am friends with because she would never remove anything I say.

I think i've only pre-emptively blocked a couple of accounts. Sometimes you can just read someone's posts and go..."yeah, were going to have trouble down the road". And it just does everybody a favor to block them up front.😆

Dozens. Probably mostly people with new accounts after being banned. Some of them think they were banned because of me, rather than their disgusting comments. I don't even report people that often.
