The moon circles the Earth 13 times a year. 365 days divided by 13 gives you 28 days a month. Even the bible once said there's 13 months in the book of Enoch. So there's a good argument for adding another month. We know months have been added in the past by Roman emperors, so why can't we do it now? I suggest in the middle to make summer longer.
So now we're all agreed what are we going to call the new month? Do we name it after a god that's been left out? (Aphrodituary) Perhaps after a world leader like Trump (Trumpber)? Or we could have something along the lines of pride (Rainbowuary) or black month (blackber).

The majority of the Roman calendar was simply named numerically. Quintilus, Sextilis, September, October, November, December. The first few months were named for gods that corresponded to agricultural understandings and expectations.
I think it’s pretty clear that, as a species, we’re not going to agree on a religion, let alone a god. We’re probably not going to agree on a single sociopolitical figure. We’re not going to get any new seasons.
So the best bet is to stick with the numbering system. The thirteenth month would actually numerically follow ten; Undecember. But thirteenth would actually be Tredecember. This obviously puts the month at the end of the year. We could put it at the beginning of the year and call it most anything. If we’re sticking with Latin, Initiumber. “Initium” for “beginning” and “ber” for the coldest part of the year, obviously. 🤣🤣🤣 How they didn’t stick with “brr” when they came up with January and February is beyond me.
However, if we go with your idea to extend summer, 😂😂😂, we could inject Quintilus or Sextilis back into the rotation. I would insist that whichever we use, that it corresponds with its appropriate position numerically, but i honestly think most people would not know the difference, let alone care. I’m fairly certain most don’t even know that the months originally came numbered and only went to ten.
You’re kind of opening a bag of worms here.
Personally, i think we should f*ck with people and call it Lemniscate, but generate no official reasoning behind it. That will befuddle inquiring minds for eons.
Yes there was 13 months in a year when we first started now we're going to have a Trumper date or week or month can we just have the whole thing off just to think about something else I would hate to have even 5 minutes of a trump day not unless we could go to a motel and eat food and drink and have fun without paying for it or if we could just go to Trump World and get everything he gets from the people he gets it from or the way he gets it while we're in that building we can talk about people the way he talks about people we can have the same attitude the same frame of mind hearing the bells go off in our head saying there somebody answer the phone or was that the doorbell or whatever no I've already lost interest I forget this question even said LOL
Interesting: 365 days divided by 13 gives nearly precisely 28.077 days. The advantage would be the months having the same number of days, with, if I'm not mistaken, every few years a correction involving a month with one day less to correct the shift.
Possibly muslims would appreciate, but what about that 13th month's name? I like Aphrodituary, or why not Venus (easier to pronounce), placed after February? Consider there'd still be March following, which makes sense, doesn't it ;0)
On the practical side, we're so accustomed to the 12 classic months that no one would really accept a change willingly. Think of the failer of the French Republican calendar.
The astrologues (not the astronomes !) may like the idea, because it seems there are 13 signs actually instead of the classic 12. Oh my, what a mess in perspective...
tsk... going and quoting books that were excluded by those that did the choosing?
I propose Lycanthuary in honor of the rumored effects of the moon on some beastly individuals...
Febtober!!!
Ethiopia has a 13-month calendar, where the 13th month is called Pagume.
Let's call it that, and make sure we pronounce all the letters: PAH-GOO-MEE.
It could be called julember if needs be but something more contemporary would be better
