I have not been, nor will I go. While Mount Rushmore is an engineering marvel, it should never have been built.
he project sits on land sacred to the Lakota Sioux, taken in violation of the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty after gold was discovered in the Black Hills. It's yet another example of the US government breaking one of over 500 treaties it broke with native tribes.
That said, Washington doesn't deserve to be there, and I'm reasonably certain the others wouldn't choose to be there, especially Lincoln and Roosevelt.
