Yes, I had a friend who bought some acreage in the boondocks. He bought a trailer and had it moved to his property. He had no electricity and got water from a stream nearby. I went up there for a few days to visit him. I sort of had the idea that I might stay for a while. After about a week I was really bored,
I've grown up in one. It can be cool but it can be terrible. Some villages are awesome but some are full of assholes and then it's hard to find good company unlike in cities, where there's usually enough people to find some good ones.
Do you know how to milk a cow? 😄
No. I mean there were cows but the farmer milked them not everyone else. We would maybe moo at them or throw stones their way and laugh at their reactions.
Do you miss your village?
No. The village i grew up in happened to be one full of assholes xD but i have been to some awesome ones.
It's mostly childhood nostalgia. Not "missing" the people or the place.
When you grow old you will return there.. :) Old people always return to the place where they were born.. :)
Maybe i will move back to a rural place. Not that particular place i grew up in i have lots of not so good memories there and in the last decades of suburbanization, it's not a rural place anymore today. I know cause i drive by that place every time i visit my family who still lives close.
I have only visited a Greek village once as a tourist.
Thanks for the opinon. :) Haven't you visited villages your own country?
Photo from the İzmir.. :)
You are a city girl.. :) You should visit the villages.. You will love the life there.. :)
But they are happy.. :) People in the city are not happy.. :)

My grandparents still live there. I moved out to find work because all the high paying work is away from where they are. I'd say I spend over half my time split between caring for them and living in a suburban area. It's a nice setup
As a matter if fact, I visited Turkiye a few years ago, and in addition to urban Istanbul, I spent some time in rural Turkiye, in Cappadocia.
Many times in Germany and several foreign countries. I like villages close to big cities.
I´ve been to some I liked, yes. Wouldn´t want to live in one, though.
live in one, like it
