For guys what the flirtful line you used to ask her to be your girl on this special day?

Sorry guy, it's your fault.

Here's why:

1. Men have placed so much emphasis on sex that now majority of women are brainless, no personality, no self respect and no morals are all that's left. All they bring to the table is looks.

2. Women who have beauty and brains have been criticized by men because they're career oriented and selective when choosing a male companion. Men often refer to them as getting old and will be lonely forever.

3. Men just won't stfu. They're hypocritical. They say they want a sexy woman yet call her a hoe for being sent. If she's covered up and has morals she's boring.

4. They just never stop complaining nothing is ever good enough for them.

5. Women got tired of men's games. Now men want to settle down after decades of games. Women aren't interest sorry

If you could tell that she was just flirting out of boredom or for validation

As a matter of fact, it doesn't even have to be a dark-skinned girl, but maybe a girl who just isn't conventionally attractive or the type that your peers would want from you.

I understand that dark-skinned women aren't everyone's type. (I understand that there are studies that explicitly state that men have a natural biological attraction to lighter women predominantly.) But I also can't help but wonder sometimes if those preferences are not just natural but also nurtured or shaped socially by male peer groups.

Growing up as a dark skin girl, I remember having a lot of experiences with different men of different races being very attracted to me but almost seemingly embarrassed to be attracted to me at the same time or scared to be attracted to me in front of their family/friends. I'm wondering if one of those reasons was because they were afraid that their friends/family would have bullied or ostracized them for that.

It seems like there's this almost unwritten social mandate, largely manufactured by certain men, for men to participate in celebrating not being attracted to dark-skinned women and those men in particular also like to push this idea onto their peers as the standard/ way of thinking for success and status.

For example this attitude of: "If you date dark-skinned women, you're not successful or a loser in my eyes, get a white girl and then we can talk" type of situation.

There are also negative stereotypes about dark-skinned women being masculine, obese, unfeminine, mean, that certain men like to perpetuate further in order to pressure their friends and family into not being with a dark-skinned woman, even if dark-skinned women aren't all like these negative caricatures that they paint of them in real life.

So, as a question for the men of GAG: Have you ever been peer-pressured by your male friends into not pursuing or liking a dark-skinned girl or a girl that your friends didn't approve of?

I'm 40, and recently broke up with my boyfriend (47) of 11 months. We had hundreds of days filled with highs, he is social, charming, has a lot of friends, loves going out, having fun. He was very sweet, romantic and caring during these times. There were red flags that I tried to rationalize- binge drinking multiple times a week, crippling debt from student loans and cc (>200K), no career motivation and health issues that started popping up (probably from drinking). We had 6-7 arguments over the last year, that I thought were heated but never out of control (and always under the influence of alcohol). The next day we'd both apologize and move on. I realized he'd get overwhelmed then, and sometimes even at the smallest disagreement or when I needed to vent (when both were sober). I showed concern about his health and debt and the stupid fights that happened while drinking. Asked him to cut back, but he was super defensive and in denial. Fast forward to the new year, we were going to move in together and he was going to propose. He suddenly started acting disinterested and cold and last week suddenly declares he doesn't want to move in together. I'm taken aback and ask why, and he brings up the fights and that it's too frequent. I ask if he's overwhelmed with all his issues, and he admits he is, but keeps blaming me for the fights. I say I'll work on being more understanding and only bring up stuff while we're both sober and in a calm way, but I can't change the past, only do better in the future. He's reluctant to accept my words and I finally ask in frustration if he wants to break up. He says he doesn't know what wants, but needs time on his own to think. Over the next 3 weeks, I don't hear from him and he ignores my call and texts, forcing me to text and email him an official breakup note. Rationally, I know he's not good for me in his current state, but my heart still loves him. I want to know if a man like this can change. Does he deserve a second chance?

I didn't even flirt with him but maybe he took me being more talkative than usual as flirting. He remained polite but was not as smiley and chatty as usual even though I caught him checking me out several times before and he used to be very interested in my personal life the first time we talked.

A guy friend of mine and I are usually really close and enjoy each others company.
We engage in a lot of banter, but he is in a relationship so it never is anything serious.

Because I hadn't seen him in a while, I decided to add him on socials.

He accepted. A few days later an incident between the two of us occurred for which I reached out and apologised. Things seemed to be alright afterwards, so I made a joke and that was it. He deleted me the day after.

I don't expect any of you to know why he would unfriend me, but if this would have been you in this scenario: what would make you delete someone you usually get along with really well?

If you ask a girl out on a date and she refuses for a long time and you keep insisting until finally she says yes, you take her to a restaurant but when it comes time to order, you order a cheesecake.

you invited her to a dinner date but you order a cheesecake? Does this mean something?

of course after he ordered a cheese cake I felt weird ordering an actual plate so I ordered a cheesecake as well lol. Wtf? I was kind of happy I didn’t order first that would have been too awkward.

p. s. I had never been on a first date ever so I don't know if people on first dates are scared to eat real food or if this has a different meaning like he insisted so much but wants to end the date as soon as it starts because cheesecake will be served almost instantly and finish it just as fast?

We spoke for maybe 2 weeks back in December on Hinge, I thought it was fine until out of the blue his convo disappears & I assume he unmatched. Last week, I get a notification he liked my prompt & decided to match with him yesterday b/c I was curious to hear his stance, as to why he unmatched the first time around. Now he sends this message shortly after & seems like he deleted his account that first time. So if you “enjoyed” talking with me, why didn’t you take the initiative to keep the convo going outside of the app if you knew you were going to delete it? I remember him mentioning he wasn’t on social media & I wasn’t comfortable with sharing my #…still I feel like there could’ve been more effort if you actually care.

I made a question earlier about this but my boyfriend has been stressed with work and not really sure where he will be until he got good news that he’s still good! Anytime I bring up Valentine’s Day plans even after he heard the good news he still kind of shut down the idea/changes the subject. Should I talk to him about it and see what’s going on or just let him come to me with his next days off and let him bring up Valentine’s Day? I’ve mentioned a few times about Valentine’s Day what we can do but I haven’t talked to him about it and why he’s avoiding the topic of doing something.
