CosMc's: Customers flock to McDonald's new retro drinks brand

Long queues have formed outside the first branch of new McDonald's concept brand CosMc's - but will the new retro-themed, drinks-focused brand have staying power?

Fast-food companies are dreaming of more customers like 21-year-old Corinn McKenna.

"I'm here because of the intrigue, and I think the McDonald's empire is something that's pretty impressive," she said. "I first heard about this launch on TikTok."

Ms McKenna, who ordered a tart, mildly sweet blackberry mint green tea, was among the initial rush of customers at the first CosMc's, a new brand launched by the burger giant with the hopes of cracking the market for specialty coffees and drinks.

CosMc's yellow-and-purple design is meant to evoke nostalgia for the brand's past and is named after a strange and obscure company mascot - a cheeseburger-obsessed orange alien with six arms that featured in McDonald's advertising starting in the 1980s.

The menu is slightly more up to date. It includes breakfast sandwiches with slight uplifts - one comes with avocado and tomatillo along with egg and sausage - desserts such as filled donut-like pastries called McPops, and snacks including pretzel bites.

When I go to restrooms in bars, I feel bad for girls that have to wait in a queue, while us guys can immediately go for a pee. In our restroom, there are always unused cubicles. I would like to say to girls that I don't mind if they go in and use it.

So, would you use the cubicles in the guy's restroom if guys told you that you can assuming that you need to pass behind guys using urinals?

If you were given a chance to bring complete world peace (set aside your disbelief this is possible) but it would mean you were completely erased from existence, would you accept?

And by erased from existence, I don't mean die. I mean you don't and never did exist. There would be no afterlife as you were never born. So this isn't a sacrifice that you can gain anything from. You can't make up for any past actions or misdeeds with this noble act because you'll be complete utterly gone. Think of it as your soul, your being, your essence, the energy that makes you up being used in exchange for peace. Time would be redone so it isn't like you suddenly just disappeared. This would be you never were.

For those with children, your spouse/partner/whatever met someone else and the children were still born so no cosmic upset of reality is going to happen. Your parents had another child instead of you. There would be no other repercussions to the world beyond you no longer existing. (So no paradoxes or changes the fate of the world in some way.) And no, the other child instead of you isn't you reborn. No one would miss you or be sad or hurt or anything negative. You are completely POOF!

By complete peace, I mean total peace. No fighting, no war, no hunger, no poverty, etc. Everyone would have what the need to survive and be happy. True harmony, and a world that is perfect.
