My wife and I have been struggling financially for a while, which led us to move every year, trying to save money and make ends meet in our hometown. Eventually, we decided to leave the state and move to Florida, where the cost of living was more affordable. However, I can’t stand it here. The humidity, poor infrastructure, hurricanes, traffic, mosquitoes, flat terrain, and lack of outdoor activities really get to me. I’m an outdoorsy person who loves hiking, cycling, and just being outside, and Florida just doesn’t offer the lifestyle I enjoy.

Now that my wife is pregnant, I’ve been thinking about moving to Colorado. It’s similar in cost to Florida but offers so much more in terms of outdoor activities and scenery. Unfortunately, every time I bring it up, my wife gets upset. She’s exhausted from all the moving we’ve done over the years and wants stability. Her mom lives here in Florida, but she doesn’t really go out much and would even charge us for any help with the baby.

I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like I’m sinking into depression and hopelessness after living this way for nearly four years. I’m about to finish grad school, and our income will improve significantly, which will get us in a better neighborhood in FL or CO, but I’m struggling to see a way forward that works for both of us.

I dont much like this at all. Not sure why pardons are legal. Should be all handled in court.

Like if you give them a compliment, and they say that means a lot with hearts or something, not necessarily you mean a lot to me, but what you said or your opinion means a lot to me

I read it would take an average American 25-30 years to make that money factoring in expenses and taxes. 15-20 for a bit higher earners

If my family wasn’t very wealthy I’d be panicking. I still need to work very hard, but it gives me the chance to reap the rewards of being successful as my parents suffered the most.

FYI: They did end up switching over year long period from when they found out at 3 months. They raised them together (during COVID) as much as they could (amazingly fortunate being 10 minutes away from each other) until kindergarten where they went to separate schools but still have established a relationship of kind of "co parents" and are differentiated by Mom/Mama.

The most difficult part according to both sets of parents was explaining to their older siblings why they were trading away their sister after 3 months of being together.

I think they did the right thing but my God how gut wrenching that must be.

Yes, this is America, so they both sued the fertility clinic and settled out of court.

I’ve seen many say things like we are expendable, we’re not allowed to show weakness, we’re not allowed to have mental health struggles. I think it’s absolutely ridiculous if I can be perfectly candid. Yes, people DO care about us. I have seen it in real life time and time again.
